That is just the date of the current incarnation. I think TupacBoard officially launched in 97.

StreetHop.com launched in 2002 or 2003 from what I remember. At that point the forum already existed as a community for HitEmUp and StreetHop was created as a seperate site but both were joined by this forum. Then when HitEmUp was lost there was no point in keeping this forum as a seperate entity any longer and it was integrated into StreetHop. So the official 10 year anniversary for StreetHop.com would be in 2013.
