Trying to watch a persons sugar intake and was wondering if anyone knew what the normal/standard amount was for a day.

And that's for added sugar? Or like any sugar intake like say eating an orange?

I think it's around 30 grams, I could be wrong though. I know if you drink a can of coke you have had more than you should have for one day.

It's about 100g a day which is pretty impossible to stick to unless you eat a strict diet, I know an apple has about 25-30g of sugar in it.

What's the normal amount of alcohol (shots) you should have on a daily basis?

I thought sugar was in the "use sparingly" category. I don't think there's a set amount since it has no nutritional value.

You should eat as little as possible. Even if you don't eat or drink anything sweet you still absorb a lot of sugar. Of course there are also various types of sugar. Some are "healthier" than others.

Personally I eat or rather drink shitloads of sugar. 5 cans of coke a day is little to me. It's uber unhealthy but I love it.

Yeah, Keco and Masta are right. Not only is there no standard amount of sugar you should have per day, no one should actually have any amount of added sugar, corn syrup, dextrose, high fructose garbage, etc. What one should have is fruit, and plenty of it. 5-10 servings, say. And for fruit juice, you should water it down by half. It's too concentrated to drink a whole glass straight without raising your blood sugar too high, esp. if you have problems.

Recommended Daily Allowance for Sugar
There is no recommended daily allowance (RDA) for sugar. In fact, some experts believe we need no sugar at all. On the other hand, weight loss surveys have shown that diets containing very small amounts of sugar are less easy to stick to.
Official US Guidelines advise a maximum of 40g refined sugar for every 2000 calories consumed. This equates to 8 percent of calories.

Note: Refined sugar is not only table sugar - it includes the sugars in a wide range of processed foods (e.g. breakfast cereal). So remember to read food labels and choose lower-sugar brands.
