Today i got kicked out of school due to too many absences.they arranged a conference with my councelers n shit tomorrow.. maybe i will go back but idk.. im 25 credits short which is almost a semestar and will probably be more by the end of this semestar. if i do graduate it would be by august or later.. what would yall do, do all that shit (adult school, summer school, etc) or get a ged and try to go to community college? any recommendations?

GO BACK TO SCHOOL FOR SURE. two of my closest friends have already been through this shit, excactly what ur going through. They both almost tell me on a daily basis they wish they would of stayed in high school. Buckle down and bang that shit out. Youve got to go back and get that shit done man, this is ur future.

GED people are considered not as smart(unfair). point blank, even though in most cases, it is not. The student either became lazy and quit coming to class, or some other stupid shit.

You only get one life to live, thats all they give us to do it, you can bullshit your way through, or stay true to it.

meyer appreciate it man, but like i said the only problem is if ur under 18 u cant get a job without the schools permission n shit in cali..

you need to address the problem of your attendence. it's easy to say, "i'll finish up somehow and then get a job." the fact is that working sucks until you find the ideal job, and if you're absent for a job, you're done.

what's causing the absenteeism, and what can you do to rectify it?

and yes, it's ignorant to say it, but it IS true... GEDs are a freakin' joke. and no, you cannot attend community college until you have one or a diploma. just finish up. you'll spend more work preparing for the GED exam than sitting in a classroom reciting 2pac songs in ya head.

-edit-
part of high school is the experience. people who shoot for the GED option are often considered as outsiders because they didn't go through the normalizing socialization process of high school. whether or not you ascribe to that notion (i do to a certain extent) it's an underlying moray in america. you're abnormal until you do the high school thing to most people (including employers).

fatal.. u lookin @ this shyt short term.. u need to figure whats better for your future

oh and dante. he can attend CC if he wants but once he has the credits to get his AA.. he wont be able to untill has has finished his GED or diploma... thats how it works in cali atleast

Most highschools are a joke. 90% of them don't prepare you for college anyway. Unless mommy and daddy are rich and send you to private schools. Public highschools are a fucking joke. k. :p

alright ill aim for the diploma.. but i think ima still take my ged just incase..

not always. i actually made the decision to move myself OUT of private school because i'd have more opportunities and challenges in public school.

really, it all depends in your community and your interests. hey, with zero preparation, my public school helped me get a 34 on the act test :)

To all the GED haters: I got my GED, graduated college, got my A+ and Network certifications. Stop saying the GED is for retards or losers. When I started UPS I was 19 and I got my GED a year or two before that and they didnt even mention it. Sometimes the GED is just the better option. As long as you continue with your education it will be all good. Education is one of the most important things in life. A GED is looked at no differently than a high school diploma. :)
You founded UPS? Man you must be a billionaire.

KFatal get a GED. I think a high school diploma is way over your league. Start small. lol

you could just go to community college or do your Proficiency exam. It's not a diploma or a GED but basically the state awards you a diploma that your employers will LEGALLY have to accept this Diploma as a equivalent of a high school diploma.

hit me up on pm, aim, or somethin and i'll show ya

Good luck.

being a person who found the hard way about lifes reality, lemme through some shit on for a minute. as no kind of finished education is gonna leave you some very slim choices.

1. acting, maybe you got some tilt of actin talent. some good looks, charming personality, ya live out in hollywood and new york. maybe one day while out and about some dumber fuck looses his opportunity and the grace god puts you in the right place at the right time.

2. how's about the music business? got a good voice, a good band, know alot about production, good with writing? maybe one day while spending years strugglin for a chance meeting with a label rep, he'll just happen to be takin a shit in a hole in the wall club you're playing in. hey, stranger things have happened.

3. whoa, how's bout a pornstar?! got like 10 inches or better? like havin A2M, BDSM, DP, TP, RE, MFM, FFM(even i like that one), and all the other shit you wouldn't believe people pay to see? well, maybe after the hundred thousands of guys, you'll have something different to offer. something eye catching. you might not even have to start at the bottom doin gay porn and TV movies bare back.

3. or fuck all that, the real deal is drugs. after networkin with nickels and dimes, you'll move up to pushin big weight. your mama proves she'll never rat her son out after her living room is destroyed in a raid, true loyalty. your best friend fucks one of your gold diggin hussies into setting you up for jackin your profit, life lesson in that somewhere. and maybe you'll manage not to abuse your own product, good willpower right there.

4. or you can just find some manual labor and spend the next thirty years at that motherfucka. hell, you can do that till one of the other three kicks off. ya never know.

now the above are some respected careers (i least in my eyes) and you don't really need completed education to make a decent living in them at all. after all that though you have some rather.... not so decent jobs...
pan handling, homeless, gigolo, crack whore, and couple more i think. so you do have some options.

i just dont see how this is different from a ged...
