Politicians get together and do things like prey for soldiers, victims of crime and other things. I'd imagine these kinds of "attitude" (oh you know, a kind of trying to justify certain things by looking for answers from up above) arent limited to Americans or certain type of religion. Until we have better systems to control the weather, all of the farmers down there and else where are going to turn to God when things get desperate enough.
