Coles for Moss a done deal?
Reports are surfacing that the Jets and Redskins are close or may have already completed a deal that would bring WR Laveranues Coles back to the Jets in a straight up trade for WR Santana Moss.

Official word on this deal may not come until the free agency period starts on March 2nd. A lot of unanswered questions loom, mostly regarding Coles’ huge contract and the salary cap implications it will have for both teams. Reports have said that the Redskins are trying to convince Coles to forego a final $5MM installment of his original $13MM signing bonus which is due on April 1st in lieu of a trade. If Coles does not forego that final payment, the Redskins’ cap hit if he is traded would be in excess of $9MM which would probably nix a deal. Reports have said that Coles would only forego his bonus due in April if he was released and was able to become a free agent rather than being traded.

Moss is coming into the final year of his contract where he will earn $448K in base salary. The Redskins will likely try to sign Moss to a long term contract as part of the deal. Moss, interviewed on 1050 ESPN Radio today, said he was unaware of an imminent deal but he would have no problem going to Washington if a deal was made.

Coles was the Jets leading receiver when he left as a restricted free agent in 2003. He has since led the Redskins in receptions in both of the two seasons he has been there. Despite being the go-to WR, Coles has publicly expressed his dissatisfaction of a diminished role in Redskins’ Head Coach’s Joe Gibbs run oriented offense.

That's a steal for the Skins if this goes through.
its not really the players that pisses me off, its the fact that Coles would probably be cut anyway so the Jets could've just picked him up that way
