i think they did.

simple fact is that a very small percentage of the market would buy this release. even with dre's outstanding production, a lot of the content of this set would be loops. while i might listen to the album when i'm playing halo or some shit, you just don't play hip hop instrumentals like you would a song. it was a bad idea from the start. ...that's not to say that it's a dumb concept overall - just how they approached it. this would be an awesome dj resource that would help promote death row for free across a lot fo venues. drop this on vinyl and promo cd and it's a great idea. selling it next to the new cholesterol joe album ain't as good.
