What do you want from the new Tupac album?

Certainly not to have it raped to the extent that it has been.

Agreed. But we've been promised an album of OG's this time.

I don't see how Hendrix releasing an album makes it right.
Do you enjoy his new albums? I am only saying what I want from the albums.... And that is the end.

Because you said 1996-2010 as if the extent of time he has been dead makes any difference. Hendrix has been dead for 40 years.

I do not enjoy bullshit like "Loyal 2 The Game".....but I KNOW that there was good material made for the last few albums.....how? Because Johnny played me things he submitted for that album and the Pac's Life album that got turned down in favor of the other tracks that ended up on the album. He wasn't the only decent producer that happened to. I'm all in favor of those tracks being released, because they are awesome.

Thats the problem, 2pac is the only dead artists that has his material remixed to shit. You dont see the people in charge of Jimmy Hendrix's estate taking his songs and removing stuff from the songs and remixing them to until they see fit.

I'm not a fan of either. But like I said - WideAWAKE have promised an album of OG's with no remixes.

Oh i know that WideAwake is gonna release an og album. I was mainly pointing out that the people in charge of Pac's estate are the ONLY estate that have ever remixed an artists material to extent that they have. You dont see the Elvis, Nirvana, or even the people in charge of The Beatles remixing all those tracks to shit like Amaru does with Pac's tracks.

^Cause his estate doesn't have nearly as much money as the other estates. It all comes down to money, DUH.

^^ So a company that doesnt have money, instead of releasing the songs as they are, instead pays MORE money to have them remixed?

^because the remixes should in theory be more commercially viable because:

a) They are remixed by active known producers at the time
b) Feature active and popular rappers at the time
c) sound crisp and "new"

The estate probably thought "as is" OGs would not sell as much and I can't say for sure that they were wrong with that. All I know is, this board, and especially in its current state, is not a microcosm of the wide Tupac fanbase. If and when an album full of OGs is released, we'll compare sales.

"Black Jesus" in it's original form would be brilliant. I just think that song is really soulful in it's original form. Give me any other 11 other tracks in their original form and I'll take them and enjoy finally having them in my collection.

The remixing topic is a tricky one. There are some tracks that definitely needed to be remixed, while others could have been left as they were recorded (maybe needing just a few more finishing touches). Compare when thugs cry og to what they put out. They changed the whole context of the song, we don't need that when it comes to remixing. I don't mind the the beat on it but, the person singing the chorus and whatever they are singing is horrible. When Casey tells us Johnny J had some good tracks rejected, and the Outlaws come out saying Tupac wasn't interested in working with Johnny J anymore, there has to be some dodgy s!@t going on over at Amaru. Who's to determine whether a song is to be remixed or not? How can we believe when we're told the songs were not finished or recorded as they were meant to be? The only guy that knows is dead. However, I'm sure it would have been pretty listening to the DAT which song was finished and which one wasn't.

As for this board, true, it is not the microcosm of the Tupac fanbase but you can't ignore some of the ideas or comments some members post on here. Someone mentioned the point that we fans have Unconditional Luv in a form & version Amaru couldn't give us. We had that remix of Don't Call Me Bitch which sounded amazing (not that someone on here made it). That tells a lot about what the Tupac fan base is capable of. SOFI, experienced or not, I bet if you were put as the project co-ordinator on the next LP, you couldn't put out a worse LP than LTTG. Even if you tried as hard as you could to f!@#k it up.

No. Biggie's estate have done it also....'Born Again' album.....

I don't think an OG album would sell that well either. And the whole point of releasing the albums is to make money. I think that, unfortunately, 2pac related products no longer sell since he is not able to market them.

I think it would sell better than Death Row/WideAWAKE's last four releases - "The Chronic Re-Lit", "Snoop - The Lost Sessions", Danny Boy's "It's About Time" and Crooked I's "Hood Star".

Not saying your point is invalid, just saying that obviously Death Row/WideAWAKE is putting money in to releasing and marketing some pretty niche material. I would imagine a Tupac release would sell at least 5x and probably 10x what Danny Boy and Crooked I sold.

Definately agreed there.
