weird drug test etc. / law question

Ok so there's a new policy at my work, if you are injured, they now can collect a sample on the spot.
What they do is something to the extent of taking a little rag, dipped in something or another, and they put it in your mouth and something, in the cheek to get some sort of skin sample?

I'm wondering how these compare to conventional tests like piss tests. If i were to smoke, say, marijuana (gasp) i wonder how good these tests are? Fucking tests...I havn't touched weed since, because I don't wanna risk losing employment. But i might go all out on spring break and when I'm back, i dont even think it'd matter. as long as i'm not doing it on the job, who fucking cares right? i dont think legally they can do anything .... but does anyone know?

That's the spirit! seriously, i'm basically thinking like that right now, but i'd still like to know. After all it is a risk. As far as I know, as long as you weren't smoking it on the job, as long as you were not under any influence while at work, it doesn't matter because your personal life is none of their motherfucking business (and tests can tell how long ago you smoked) you know. I believe that's basically the law or something..?
But I'm also wondering how a test like that would compare, etc.

I have simular policy at my work and it pisses me off also to think I could get hurt and get fired just cause when I get off my shity job I smoke a joint rather then drink a beer.

the mouth swab test's are pretty week I had one for a job and I Think I smoked like 4 days before the test and I passed, I just made sure not to get to much Saliva on the swab .

I am pretty sure they would have legal right to fire you if you tested positive for Marijuana or any other substance, if they detect it then it is in your system if it is in your system then it is affecting you or possibly affecting you wich is good enoug I imagin.

I think it's terrible that they are even allowed to take test, why should a company be allowed to do that. Nonono, I'm against all this.

^ Yes it is complete crap, i think it might even be against some law but they will still do it. The union doesn't like it but fuckin the company is just trying to control you more and more every day.
Shit, I don't think people should come to work high or whatever, but personal lives are people's own fucking business as long as it doesnt affect performance on the job - - and in maaaany people's cases, it doesnt.

if ur under contract with a company n they fire you cuz u smoke weed isnt that against your human resources or whatever since you have a "drug problem" note the quotes they have to pay for your rehab if your wlling to do it

Damn they doing cheek swabs for drug tests now? I thought that was only for paternity tests lol But seriously though, how effective could they be if they're not getting any blood? Surely drugs won't stay in your skin very long, will it? I've never heard of that one. Luckily my job doesn't do any type of drug tests so I got it made.

The test comes back positive only if you are fucked up when the accident occurs.
