Two Tampa Bay-based promoters are suing rapper Lil’ Wayne for missing a concert date and making no effort to reschedule it.

According to the lawsuit filed Friday in Miami-Dade County Circuit Court, Nunoise Entertainment and Jahfari Promotions claim the artist, whose real name is Dwayne Carter, signed a contract on Sept. 18 to perform at a Tampa nightclub on Oct. 29. After missing the gig, Weezy returned a $15,000 deposit, but failed to give back $45,000 for canceling the show, the lawsuit said.

The contract also stated that Lil’ Wayne, 24, was obligated to schedule another show in the Tampa Bay area in place of the cancelled date. The lawsuit states he failed to do so.

"He did miss a date, he admitted he missed a date, and he was supposed to make it up," said attorney Marlowe Blake, who is representing the promoter. "It's a simple breach of contract type of matter."

The lawsuit adds that in addition to $45,000 in actual damages, Lil' Wayne's cancellation caused more than $200,000 in lost profits from the concert.
