He made way more money than Biggie, Suge Knight just fucked 2pac over when it came to him getting paid. In resurrection, they took a picture of 2pac's check, i remember it being in the $900,000 area. So he kept talking about 6-digit checks, while Biggie, i remember him saying in a track that his checks where 7-digits...and when 2pac died, he only had like $110,000 in his account.

So basically his money would come from advertisements and movies. However Gang Related's soundtrack was produced by Death Row and so was Gridlock'd's sountrack. So could that be why Pac was broke and also why people think Suge killed Pac? Because since the contract was over if Makaveli decided to sign with Death Row he would have to receive money but since he was about to start Makaveli Records no way would he sign to Death Row. A little off topic but you get my point.

Pac owed Death Row one million for getting him out of jail. I read somewhere that Pac would of got his royalties for All Eyez On Me a year and a half after it was released. I also heard that Pac built up a huge debt and used advances to buy several cars, a house for his mother, jewels, security, furniture for his house that Suge got him and up to $2million on studio time and video costs. Remember he was still having to pay off lawyers while he was on DR as well.
If you think about it, if Pac was broke while he was in jail and then went to DR with next to nothing and had Suge buy him basically everything due to loans and other advances, its not a surprise that he had hardly anything in the bank at the time of his death. He would of got major money during late 97 because of the 2 albums he did and the films he starred in.

the story i've always been told was that when tupac died afeni sued death row for the masters and some 17 million dollars, which were royalties that were never paid to pac. maybe i've been wrong all the time lol. i have an article about this shit at home, an old one thats been around on the net for years. i'll see if i can post it some time unless someone beat me to it. i dont know its origin, so i dont really know the answer though.
