I saw it last night. I expected it to be more anti-Bush than it was. It was largely sympathetic and instead of focusing much on politics, it focused more on the dynamic relationship between Junior and Senior.

I had a lot of laughs but it was, of course, at Bush' expense.

Is our children learning? LAWL

Anybody see it?

Also, the movie theater that I went to see it in had a billboard or whatever, the way cinemas do, that had W. on it and above it said "Goodbye". LAWL I love Seattle.

quick question, is it like a parody movie, or more of a documentary?
Neither. It's a story of a redneck guy and his father. Basically, it's about how the most hated man in America came to be, but it's not about politics, it's a human drama and the roles are played very well.

it explains his life from the time he was in college til 1986 when he quit smoking and drinking and partying all together and he became a born again christian. Josh Brolin did a excellent job playing W. (lol at W. callin Rumsfeld.. rummy)

there was a lot of things they didnt cover which i was surprised.
1. the election with him and Gore. they didnt even go into detail with that.

2. i thought they would have went into part of the story when Laura gave birth to the kids.

3. 9/11 they talked about it thru the movie but didnt focus on that point in 2001 all together.

Like SOFI said the movie was about his relationship with George Sr. their problems and eventually W. changing his life all together.

i expected the movie to basically bash him and make him look stupid. which they really didnt... in the movie when the press got on him about 9/11 he couldnt come up with a solid answer.

Oliver Stone did a excellent job with this movie. and the cast of characters was awesome to watch.. elizabeth banks as Laura. the guy who played colin powell. the old lady who played barbara. james cromwell did good as Bush Sr. but the only thing he should have done was learned the accent.. you know how he talks.

Props to Richard Dreyfuss for his role as Dick Cheney. he plays him to a tee. i imagine he'll be up for an award for that role.
