i believe you can get a copy from microsoft for FREE. download it from here

this is visual basic express edition. it does everything the full version can do, but some things are missing that probably wont affect you.

I was looking at Micorosft Visual Studio 6.0 Pro edition on ebay....one sold for 700 dollars yesterday....god damn thats expensive....really need this software for my programming needs.....but seems to be too much money for software..am i right?

are you doing MFC or ASP.NET??? if not download the express versions, they do everything the regular version does. you would only need the regular retail version if you do advanced stuff. and if you need it for advanced stuff i'd assume you would already have this software in the first place.

was it bootleg software or the actual thing. if it was a bootlegged cd, check the text files in there,it might be in there. or if theres a .nfo file,open it with notepad.

The actual thing would have the key code on a certificate in the package. or if it was a used copy, then maybe the person didnt give you a cd key.

if all else fails, take pittseys advice, or just go to google and search for visual studio keygen

Well if you went out and bought it, I'm sure you can take it back and explain that there's no serial number. Otherwise you're just asking for warez.
