Ok, you're adamant it wont work. then what should we do to alleviate the problem here? just sit back and do nothing? atleast with maintaining some sort of regulations, and introducing legislation that would place difficult restrictions on firearm purchases we could work to trying to reduce the number of massacres.
hey, atleast i'm offering something that MAY (most likely WILL) help the situation. there wouild be no harm in banning gun laws for a period of several years to test its effectiveness. if it doesnt work, which you stubbornly maintain, then we could scrap it. but atleast there was an attempted solution presented, which is more than your "this wont work, that wont work" approach. oh wells.

i presented stats , stats from your country no less. you havent exactly acknowledged them. instead you resort to call ing me a homo. try actually looking at stats on both sides of the issue. i have, including yours you posted, which are questionable with its wording, and my conclusion is that bans only do more harm than good as the stats show. you cant ban illegal guns. you cant put a ban on guns on the black market.

when u ban guns, u get gun runners...more ppl running guns becuz the business is much more lucrative n' hence brings more crime....doesn't mean it brings more murders but u do have more crime.....don't ban guns cuz of a few nutcases in the streets....this is a big ass country n' not all of us go on killing sprees...when i go home, i love to hunt n' shit...nothing like it...i don't hunt for sport, i hunt n' use guns cuz it's a way of life....that i legally use
Quebec, Canada has a ban on guns yet there was that shooting at Dawson College a couple months ago. Fucked up people kill people...this shit can happen anywhere. I think the biggest issue here is the degree of accessibility and availability of firearms within the U.S. It gets to a point that firearms are SO widely accessible that it really begins to question the relevance of having an outline of what is considered a legal purchase and what isn't. Meaning that because they're so easy to obtain, the whole "legal" way of doing things becomes a complete joke. If the Columbine kids could access the firearms so easily (by just asking one of their buddies to purhcase it for them - straw purchasing), then questions really do need to be raised about why firearms are so readily available in the US.
Another thing, which I am not sure is corroborated with fact as I haven't researched it - is the idea that this easy accessibility leads to the emergence of a gun culture. You cannot have a gun culture if there are no guns present - and I'm just putting forth the idea that this availability has done nothing but provide the seeds for the gun culture to grow from.

So basically, this guy, Cho Seung-Hui, had a facebook account, that was deleted after his name was revealed.
Someone else then set up a fake profile under the same name, as he knew people would be searching for it. I joined the fake Cho's friends list and then recieved the following message an hour or so later:

I feel sorry for those that were involved, but I gotta say, you american kids are real wimps, 20k+ Students Vs 1 Guy with a gun, and not one of them had the balls to try and take him down. Nah, its not stereo typing, its life. I cant believe how shocked people here were when i mentioned that my boy is inside for attempted murder. To us its everyday stuff. That is unless you're an emo, then you're probly getting robbed.
If you follow the news carefully, you'd see that there were numerous heroic attempts done by students, Prize Gotti. However, he was armed with two firearms, had a vest on, and most likely a large amount of ammo. On the other hand, students were equipped with graphing calculators, pencils, and camera phones.
