stupid people make stupid decisions.
buying over the internet is actually superior to buying locally for a variety of reasons. i'll put it in simple terms so you can comprehend them.
the internet is a world wide marketplace. this means that whereas local markets have decreasing competition as the specialication of the products increases, the global market price reflects competition universally. large chains like walmart are criticised for offering prices with which the small business owner cannot compete, however globally you can even trump walmart. that's power. ...and uncle sam doesn't get a piece of it. yep, internet sales are largely untaxed, and while you do pay shipping, in the end you almost always win.
so pella, you're still too chickenshit to buy something over the internet? it would be prudent to consider the seller as well. you have someone like me, or for that matter anyone who runs a business and you maintain some sort of notion that the world is out to rob you? weird. tracking and insurance are foreign concepts to you then, buddy. tracking tells you where the item is at any time, and insurance pays you likely more than the item was worth in the event it's lost. despite people always being so quick to tell stories how their stuff was lost in the mail, it has happened a total of zero times for the thousands of sales i have done.
let's be real with each other. you're just another one of these idiots who wants something for nothing.
