Don't get me started on Animal Rights groups. I wrote an essay about this kind of thing, about animal rights in general rather than PETA.

Even ALF look like angels compared to the Animal Rights Militia (ARM). Members of ARM have sent nailbombs through the post. People they view as 'enemies' of animal rights. Like the British Heart Foundation. Like an estate agent who lost sight in on eye as a result of one nail bomb. Like a six year old girl who opened a nail bomb sent to her father, who owns a pest control service.

It's ridiculous for PETA to even talk about ethics. They sent someone dressed in a devil costume to dance on the grave of famous Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus animal trainer Gunther Gebel-Williams. They handed out blood-soaked Burger King crowns to kids. They compare the Holocaust, Slavery and 9/11 to the "plight" of battery hens.

Because, unlike some it would seem, I care about the "souls" Animals Rights extremists endanger when they send explosives to people, or plant them in leather handbags. I care about the "souls" that are saved as a result of animal testing.

In my opinion, a human life outweighs the lives of any number of animals. If a difference of opinion frustrates you so much that you don't want to take part in a discussion, I have to question why you post on a message board at all.

Illuminatile is right. To me there's absolutely nothing wrong with trying to protect animal rights. But what PETA and organizations like it do is just wrong. Ionce read an interview with the President of PETA (Can't remember his name) and they asked him, if he was in a situation where a baby and a dog were drowning, which would he save? And can you guess which one he picked? A human life is more important than an animal's life, sending nail bombs to people isn't going to do anything for animal rights.

no matter what PETA does they're not helping or stopping anything. Boycott KFC? Big deal they're vegetarians oh no KFCs salad sales will plummet! Burning down animal testing facilities just sets back research a few years, maybe work on a cure for cancer could be destroyed in fire bombings and vandalism.

4 deaths have resulted in this useless "protest", and thousands of animals have been "euthanised" by PETA, hypocrites?

Illuminattile, forget discussing who's important than who. But as the 'superior' being, its our job to show equity and justice to those that are weaker than us (animals). Just because we have power over them to a certain degree, doesn't mean that we can use that to our advantage regardless of the suffering and injustice we do to those that share this planet. Intensive farming is borne out from capitalist greed, it doesn't matter who gets hurt or what gets vandalised, as long as the big guy makes money. There are absolutelty no ethics involved to big business. Although I don't advocate reciprocating a wrong with a wrong, its hypocrytical to chastise PETA for their actions when the people they are targeting are doing what they're doing.
Humans (to me) are much more important than any animal in the world, but that doesn't mean that I oversee every human injustice against nature and its inhabitants just becasue a 'superior human' did it. People have to bear the burden of their injustices at some point. to use the argument, yes but we're doing it to animals and they're doing it to us (humans) is redundant.

Ofcourse 9/11 is mush worse than intensive farming and ivory hunting, but to compare them two distracts from the animal rights issue in its own right.
There's also reports of a media propaganda against these types of organisations funded by big business to make them out as evil and distract from the real issues. Don't believe everything you read.

You can't pass off the fact that groups like ALF and ARM are engaged in terrorist activity on some supposed "big business" conspiracy.

Justifying a group sending nail bombs to companies and people tenuously linked with Huntingdon Life Sciences because they test on animals is as ridiculous as justifying the Madrid or London bombings because the people on those trains voted in the leaders that sent troops to Iraq.

I don't bomb churches because I have a different opinion to the people who run them. Just because they believe animal testing is "evil" or whatever doesn't give them any right to petrol bomb research labs.
