Vaping

This was for your eGo? I didn’t realize they made coils that changed by the hundredths. I was only familiar with 0.5, 0.6, 1.0, and 1.1 for the Joyetech. I feel like the hundredths are just splitting hairs but did you notice a huge difference?

Oh, that's for my mod. I was also at 0.6 on my eGo and then switched to the mod. There's a shitload of different coils you can get for it. Frequently they round the number up or down but you can see the real settings on the mod's display. In general the lower the value the less flavor but bigger cloud for vaping at home.

I’ve found it to be the opposite. The lower the number, the lower the resistance, and it burns hotter with more flavor but kills the battery life and the coil. More vape though. Just overall poor coil life.

I’ve seen those mods that have read outs on them and allow the alteration of wattage but the coil is still the coil, right? If it’s built to be 0.5 resistance, it’ll stay that way and you’d just have to alter the Watts going in to it. Is that what you were saying?

Settings are a whole different world of possibilities. But if you have a mod with a common tank, there are shitloads of coils you can find for it, because some things are standardized between many makers. I can literally buy at least hundreds of different sub-ohm coils from dozens of different makers, and you also have some stores making their own and selling for cheaper.
For instance, some of the coils will claim they are 0.3, but they are really 0.26, some are meant to be 0.5, but they are really 0.48 etc. For proper output calculation, the mod has to detect the real resistance, and you can also see it on its display:

Then the lower you go, the more granular the coil makers get, so you can buy 0.1, 0.12, 0.15 coils etc.

eGo only accepts coils made by Joyetech, and they only make a few for it. Possibly the eGo coils work the way you described, as I remember different resistance coils there being also built differently and offering different air flow levels. But generally speaking (all things being equal) the lower the resistance, the more smoke you get and somewhat less intense flavor, at least relative to the cloud you get. The coil also reaches higher temperatures faster, potentially burning the liquid's flavors more.

Yeah, I tried a 0.5 from Joyetech and the flavor stayed about the same but the drip tip got much hotter, as did the unit. So I didn't see too much benefit from it. I coughed more, but I don't attribute that to there being thicker smoke, or if the smoke even was thicker to begin with, but instead to the increased heat I was pulling in.

I had been having issues with using some of the previous liquid I bought in my AIO and it felt like the smoke was hot and flavorless when using those on my AIO, despite changing the coils and making sure they were primed properly. I think the store I bought them from was just selling me old shit. The two brands I used from them, DeKang and Basic, don't show up on popular online vape store sites at all. I also started looking around the bottle for a production date and the sour apple one I was especially having issues with was produced in November. Of 2016. The menthol dekang was December of 2017, but I imagine both those vials sat for a long time because no one bought them. I bought both of these liquids in May, so I don't know what to make of the one produced in December 2017 but the 2016 one? That seems like a lot of fucking time to be sitting on the shelf, even if it was sealed. I think I'm going to stop buying juice from that store completely. The people there are nice but it's in a very secluded area and really not many people know about that place. They have cheap as shit coils, though. The eLeaf coils I use are 5/$5 and the Joyetech ones are 5/$10. They seem to be $12 online and the new store I got to for juice has 5 for $20 lol. Fuck that.

But the new store from which I've been buying my Red's Iced Berries and my AIO from lowered their prices a bit on their juices. I was paying $25 for 60ml of Red's, which was still $5 more than what I could get online. But they've lowered to match those prices and started putting out deals for 3/60ml juices for $50. Still a bit steep but it's better and this store is the only brick and mortar I know near me that sells that juice, so I'm sort of tethered to them until I start buying stuff online.

I did try two new juices a few days back and got the Naked Iced Lava Flow and then a Treat Factory Kookie Krunch, which is basically just Rice Krispie Treat flavored juice. It's good in small doses but it was 100ml for $13 and it tasted good in store. I think it's the same company that makes Air Factory branded juice, just a focus on..desserts?

I never thought I'd get as deep in to vaping as I am now, where I'm now looking in to proper mods, like you suggested. I really don't want to because this was a means to quit smoking but with the introduction of sweeter, fruity flavors in to my rotation, I think I'm treating this like a 24/7 hookah and enjoying it too much lol.

It seems to be big news but I haven't been keeping tabs on all the legal stuff in the US about potential banning of flavored juice or exorbitant taxes per ml of juice thats being thrown around in the news. It would suck to lose out on all of this. In my area alone, the one or two tobacco stores that were in business the years ago are still in business, but as hybrid vape stores as well as tobacco. And who goes to a tobacco store to begin with when you can get cigs from Walgreens or gas stations? But those businesses are thriving again and on one main street alone of about a 5 mile stretch, we have these 3 vape stores. One, like I said, was previously just a tobacco store, but the other two were previously failed businesses and just spaces open for leases. And now here they are, doing well. I'm not trying to keep vaping around for their sake but I'm just saying how tobacco stores were not that popular before but now vape stores are. And they consider themselves local businesses lol, so their rewards programs "reward" customers or supporting small, local businesses.

Found a good deal on line for the juice that I’ve liked the past few months. At the store I buy it from normally it’s $25 but they’ve lowered it to $20 or 3 for $50. Found it onlin for $13 for 60 ml so I bought 6 lol. And then tried two different brands and got 15% off. So 8 bottles for $85 shipped. Should be here later this week.

I just want to say the Iced Berries Red's Apple Juice is fucking amazing. I don't think I'll ever switch from it. It's like an apple Jolly Rancher without the sour.

I really like the Naked 100 liquids (their Hawaiian Pog and Lava Flow are amazing). They are probably my favorites. The best fruity liquids for my taste. Like a really good, well blended tropical drink (unlike most others I tried, which are usually cheap Hawaiian punch imitations).

This is my second favorite since it's basically sweet caramel done right, but I think it's Canadian, so likely they wouldn't have it at many vape stores over there:

I had Lava Flow and Polar Breeze. Polar tasted better but I got sick of both flavors rather quickly. Also the Rice Krispie Treat flavored one is good once in a while. But this Apple is just something else. Real mellow.

This is the link to it: https://www.flawlessvapeshop.com/products/vape-7-daze-reds-berries-iced-eliquid

I'll be trying the rest of the Naked 100 line of juices but they are pretty heavy on fruity flavor, especially the tropical fruit ones, and that gets a bit tiring for me after a while.

I do want to find a super strong minty flavored juice. The one I had before was plenty strong but also was 24mg of nicotine and I wanted to die after using it on my eGo. On my iCare, it was just fine but it was also a less powerful set up.

Im using one of those bigger vapes now one from vapespresso

Yeah I've heard of that company before, especially on Reddit.

These low ohm coils are shit, at least on my machine. This 0.5 that I got for a second time last three days before it continually put out a burnt coil taste. Soaked a 0.6 and put that in and all is good again.

That doesn't have much to do with them being lower ohm. Those particular Joyetech coils just don't last long, and their design is worse than that of the 0.6 ohm coils. Then there's that thing that coils for the eGo, in general, don't last anywhere as long as those of the proper mods which don't rely on proprietary coils.
I've been using a single eLeaf 0.3 ohm coil that vapes like new for almost 2 months now. I went through around 150ml of liquid with it and it's still doing well. Usually, unless I have such a good unit, I replace those coils once a month. The only tangible difference between them and the 0.5 or 0.6 ohm coils is vapor production, but they all share the same design and last about as long. The Joyetech coils are simply different, and their 0.5 and 0.6 ohm coils are designed differently. Even the airflow is different.

I've been buying juice from the local sex shop at $20 for 30ml but I just bought some online for $50 for 150ml. Hopefully it tastes alright it's pretty hard to mess up grape flavor im guessing.

Yeah, the 0.5 is basically just a mesh over the cotton and you can see all of it. The 0.6 and up have a narrow tip there. I got 3 weeks on my last one, which is better than the other ohms I used. Even my iCare's coils didn't last that long.

I may have to move up to yet another complex and expensive unit lol. Despite moving from a 1.1ml tank in the iCare to a 2 ml in the eGO, my tank just doesn't last any longer. I only vape during a 30 min drive to work and leave it in my car for a few hours but it barely lasts me until I get home. The battery is fine, that's 2 days usage easy. But now I may have to start carrying the bottle of juice with me to refill. I use half the tank there, then I think some evaporates or something while in the car, and I have slightly less than half when I return. And about 10 mins left in my trip, I'm pulling dry coil heat.

Doesn't happen every day, but at least once or twice a week out of 5 days. I've seen 5+ml tanks on those mod units but I'm wondering if a more powerful unit will just keep the usage the same and I'll still have the problem.

That depends on the settings. You might be tempted to turn it up, and that's when it goes through its juice faster as well.

The juice doesn't evaporate pretty much at all. It acts almost like oil. You might have noticed that when getting some unwanted juice on your furniture while refilling the tank or something - a drop will just stay there pretty much forever.
There's hardly any evaporation until you apply high heat during vaping. More likely the cotton absorbed the juice, or some leaked.

I have a 2ml tank on a small mod. I carry a 10ml refillable bottle with me when I plan to be out for longer. Or a small bottle of different juice I bought to try a new one out.

The thing is it sits in my car in the side pocket. Not in direct sunlight and heat but the car certainly gets hot while I'm gone. We just exited the days of 85-95 degree weather which is when it happened most often, and we had a week or two of 60-75 degree weather and the issue got better. But it was 85 today and I found myself running low.

I have noticed that it collects when spilled on a surface but I figured some part of it had to have something that's volatile, especially inside a hot car, and it evaporates and reduces the volume in the tank. Maybe I'll just start bringing it in with me and stashing it somewhere off my person.

I wonder if PG/VG makes a difference. My juice now is very thin compared to the other brands I had used in the past, which were rather viscous. But yeah, it's all just vegetable oil or some other type of oil and so it shouldn't evaporate too much unless exposed to extreme heat.

I do place the eGO on its side in the side compartment and I never looked to see if there was some that "leaked" out. It is a nook, after all, so it's not obvious to see unless you actively look and maybe shine a light in there. I'll check tomorrow. But I figured my car would smell like apple if it was leaking and just collecting in there.

Generally, PG is more liquidy while VG is more viscous.
PG heavy liquids are more likely to leak, while VG heavy liquids don't absorb into the coil's wick as fast, which can lead to more dry hits on some coil designs.

If your coils are good enough, usually VG heavier juices are generally better - more vapor, pretty much no side effects (that some people have with PG). For the eGo, I'd stick to the 50/50 or 60/40 VG/PG ratios. On a mod, I go 70/30 or 80/20 even, as I'm not a fan of PG.

PG is there mostly so the flavor feels more intense. In some people, it can cause allergic reactions, irritation of the upper airways and apparently tinnitus. I thought I don't feel any of that, but I do get the tinnitus thing when I vape PG heavy juices for a longer period of time.

How much juice y'all typically go through a week? I find a 30ml bottle will last me 3 maybe 4 days.

I use just a bit less than that. I think 30ml would comfortably last me a week. Actually, it sounds like you vape quite a lot! Then again, I probably vape less just because I not always can. When I'm home and up at night, I can easily go through 4ml in 4 or 5 hours though.

Okay. I need to get a vape. I’d like something that is compact in design but has a good battery and lot of smoke (I love shisha and do smoke tricks when drunk lol).

Too much to ask?

I’ve just been put off by the bulky batteries that look like you’re holding a Walkman.

Yeah im rolling a big one now. Kinda pain in the ass to carry around but get more purchase from the smoke
