So a lot of people are hating on Vanilla Ice for that VH1 special where they tried to remake his carreer, but he had sumthin to say about it on his website.

My thoughts about the VH1 Show "Remaking":
When I first saw the show I was upset. I had a gut feeling that they would edit it in a very negative way. I guess that is to be expected because of my refusal to do what they were asking me to do. They have so much more footage that would have made the show so much more balanced and positive. The way they edited it was totally under the producer's control and they chose to slant the show negatively.

I know a lot of people are hating on me because of the show. So for those who do not understand why I declined to let someone do my hair, re-dress me, and make me over again it's because I would just rather remain doing my own thing, making music the way that I feel it should be. My true fans will appreciate what I do.

I have learned that when it comes to music and me - that it shouldn't be about image or gimmicks or hair style or clothes. That doesn't make the person within, it's about the MUSIC, so when I refused to let them make me into what they saw me as, they portrayed me as someone that doesn't care and that's far from the truth. It's because I do care that I didn't conform and I am not the ass they portrayed. They left out all the good parts on purpose. Life is about FAMILY AND FRIENDS! So use my life as a lesson, and just remember to "BE YOURSELF"!

P.S. I appreciate the opportunity VH1 gave me. I just wish I could have better understood their intentions. I am sorry to those who are pulling for me, but this is not the end --it's just another adversity that I will have to overcome. Thanks for your support! As for Chris I know some of you think he that "HE THREW ME UNDER THE BUS'' but we remain good friends. It wouldn't be proper if I didn't mention the ones who have pulled me out of the trenches, MY FAMILY, the VIP ARMY, and ICP and the JUGGALO'S, I will never turn my back on you! FAMILY FOR LIFE!!!

i think he should've been more professional about the entire situation... i think he should've listened to what everybody had to say.. i think he should've just gone with some fresh gear and some new beats... he shouldn't have let his band play... fuck that.. if he wants to be a rapper... then why doesn't he rap?

i don't understand why he didn't want anything radio friendly? just because its radio friendly doesn't mean has to be on an ice ice baby vibe, lol, we need something for 05' and i think the producers he was working with could've helped him out a whole lot... i liked what they were doin on the hook. i just think vanilla should've written some new lyrics and tried to get something going.

His appearance (the way he looks) shouldn't have any thing to do with remaking his career. The "Fred Durst"-look seems to work for hardcore whiteboys these days, anyway. LOL!

Ice doesn't wanna be the same clown he was before, but thats exactly what they were trying to do on that show....thats why they hired the choerographers - to get him to dance again. And they probably wanted to give him another high top fade and maybe even dye his hair and shit. And but still, if he wants to make a full comeback, he shouldnt be so resentful of radio-friendly songs.

But I understand what Ice is saying in his statement and I agree with him, but he set his self up. The purpose reality of reality shows is to twist reality into what the the producer's want. Ice shouldve knew that.
