US legal/criminal/jail system question, urgent

Ill do my best, now how about you stick to they topic?

The topic is about the US legal system.

My post was refering to examples in which ppl have been detained for years without a trial, showing that it can happen, and the incident with Rukas' friend is not an isolated incident.

this is normal shit...
since its a small case, its not top priority for the judges and there are probably too many cases and too little judges, so he's just gotta waiti for his case to be handled... he can, with a good lawyer, ask compensation for the time he has spent extra in his cell.

yet another reason to keep out of trouble folks. crimes, fighting and stealing DOESNT pay off.

He has been charged obviously with assault or whatever it was that stemmed from his traffic/fighting incident, so the 72 hours thing is right but it dont matter.
The reason he is in Jail is because he can't post bail, therefore he is jailed until his trial. And if he got out on bail he would still have to have his hearing and then be sentenced and what not. Aint nothing going on that is like a scam or some Patriot Act shit like you were saying, just a fucked up situation for your friend. Also someone else was saying like he is in for 2 months then he is sentenced to 6 and so he only has to serve 4 or whatever isn't entirely true either, the judge will just lessen how long until you get parole.

Military Detainees are different from Fed detainees and STate Detainess

I know of ppl in country jail who have been fighting cases here in cali for 3+ yrs but thats after youve been charged

Your friend may have a "HOLD", probably probation... Aye hold can keep you past 3 Days...He could have a fine that hasn't been payed or anything... He knows why there holding him

plus depending on where hes locked up.. they may only have court once a week and if they cant get him on there that shyt will take a lot of time up
