It's O-Week (Orientation week for those who dont know). Fucking shit. lol.

Bunch of lost looking souls wandering around aimlessly like stray dogs. Staring at maps, not knowing where to go, what to do. I hate it! I'm in my... fuck... 5th year now, lol. I'm over these people and all this shit. Had to retreat to the computer room with restricted access (pfew).

How it must suck to have to suffer through first days though.

Who else is at uni? What are you studying?

Do you have those segragated crowds like they do at Adelaide uni... like the wogs (non derogatory, afterall, i am part wog) who play that table soccer shit down near the cafe and I swear never go to classes. The socialist type twats who play hackie on the lawns. And the people like me who spend most of their time in coffee shops and computer rooms. And those boring buggers who annoy you about shit you dont care about like university politics... wtf.

Shit, I dont wanna go to class. I want more holidays... 3 months isnt enough!

haha yeh i start sometime next week for my first year.i should be looking forward to it, but im not - im enjoying bludging and working and just hanging out. youre right, 3 months is no where near enough :D , but my Commerce course awaits, and back to the boring routine of studying :(

When did you get your 3 months? Us, in the states get it from may till begining of sept. And you live in the dorms?

Holidays begin end of November/start of December and semester starts end of February/start of March.

Nah dorms arent really the thing here. They have some residential colleges not far from uni but they are predominantly used by international students. Most people either live at home or rent with friends or something. I live at home.

If movies are anything to judge by, I'd suggest university in Australia is quite different than the US. We dont have sororities (sp?) or shit like that. You just rock up to classes (if you can be bothered) and leave, which can leave you feeling very lonely and isolated sometimes... but hey, thats life.

Which uni illmatic?

lol doesnt sound like i should look forward to anything then :( Im going to Macquarie Uni in sydney, you heard of it??

I'm having that problem in CEGEP/College. I'm in my 2nd year, but I'm taking an extra year, so I see all these new kids come in and they piss me off. All excited and shit, we'll see how excited, annoying and childish they gonna be once I duff it out with em.

Ahh, I see. Yeah we get may till begining of sept. Then 4 days from last thursday in november till the following monday. Then a month off from around the 21st of dec to jan of 21st. And one last break in march aka the spring break.

They make colleges n shit, too wild out here in the states compared to the other places i've heard about. I know in other countries where its just studies/classes and then home. None of the sororities and all the extra other shit.

Yall got sports team n etc right?
And i feel u on the 5th year thing. I was suppose to be done this may. But I fucked up back iin 02/03. I didnt take fulltime courses, I was chaning schools n shit. And alla dat pushed me backk. :(

I cant wait to get the fuck out with my degree. And nowadayz a BA isnt really worth shit. I wish this was pushed back 10 yearz ago, where a BA had more power. :(

*waves hand in air*

I'm in college, it sucks, nah, it doesn't :D

I don't stay on campus anymore, that was okay Freshie and Sophomore year, but now. . .i'd rather not, lol

I'm a double major in Business and Finance with a minor in International Studies.

It's not too segregated at DePaul, then again, all the people are the same so you can't be segregated, lo

School ain't so fun when it's freezing out and the campus is huge. Sometimes, like today i just couldn't be bothered. Went to my last class, sat down for less than 5 mins and left haha.

i go back on the 27th of february.. i want more holidays :( at mawson lakes uni n its a pretty kool uni tho compared to when i was at city west campus.. i think rukas goes there as well tho i havnt seen him round :D oh and im studying to become a teacher

Man , i dont know what the fuck you be smoking , i know quite a few of my first year friends who went to o-week and had a blast . O-week down here was a fucking good experience . Nearly everybody , well at least 95% of the crowd drinking beer getting drunk , or already drunk , 1st year people are possibly the most sociable/ready to party type people you can meet

I go to Sydney uni but I don't want to go back. I love my holidays, plus travelling into the city is a bitch.

My O week is next week, I have to go for a meeting but I will leave straight away. Im not really into the social scene at uni for some reason. And yes, you do see some segregated groups, we also have the hippies playing hacky sack and the wannabe politicians handing out flyers saying GET THE TROOPS OUT OF IRAQ.

I got to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, but everyone on here knows that already :)

Right now the plan is to double major in Economics and Political Science and then go to law school, hopefully here. Right now I'm taking Intro to Econ, Intro to Government in the U.S., Descriptive Astronomy, Major American Authors, and Oral Communication.

Crowds here aren't really segregated. People generally don't have a problem with each other. Most people that play in the quads play frisbee or throw a football around. Not too much "hackie." A lot of people go to the gyms to play basketball too. Anyone who advertises for a club or a cause usually goes to the pit, because it's at the center of the Student Union and the dining hall and a couple of the libraries, so most every student passes through there at least once everyday.

I love school. This is the best time of my life. Three weeks 'til spring break :)

yes there are clicks

but everyone loves me so its all good

i spend my time laying by the pool, playing golf, sometimes working out, going out and visiting the fine establishments on south beach and in coconut grove, and oh yeah, i go to class sometimes

I'd love to be at University, but first I have to learn how to type properly on a computer. One step at a time. lol.

Im hoping I can be one of those aimless wanderers when I hopefully go for a contruction engineering course later down the line.

peace.
