Ricky D had a better debut than ALL OF THEM.

i know he's comfortable, with his property and whatnot, but still. now he's fighting deportation because he performed on a cruise ship trying to raise money for black college students. you hear about it when chuck and krs do something political. people get hype as fuck over a new rakim verse. knuckleheads will forever love g rap and dunnies rep his shit, but you never hear about slick rick. compared to other songs with cameos by golden age rappers, the new cham song should get 100x the props and buzz it does just for having rick on there.

i'm mad at hip-hop.

I feel you. I've always been a huge Slick Rick fan, even when I was younger. He was always so dope to me and i've also thought about "what if he had a better run?". He has enough dope material for me to enjoy, but more definitely would of been better. His debut is one of my favorite albums ever. Slick Rick is just that dude and that's a fact.

Also, Slick Rick is one of those rappers that always gave me a good feeling when listening to him. The real hip hop heads know what I mean when I say that. There's plenty of rappers I like, but there's not alot that can do that. I get it from Ricky D, Pun, Tribe and a few more artists at most. Everyone about Rick is dope.

I've been listenin to that Cham song a lot lately, mainly cus of him. Personally I don't think his debut is better than Ra's or KRS's but whatever. But what are you tryin to say, you wish he got more love? Slick Rick is a legend that is not putting himself out there like others, what more can you ask for.

Agreed. My dream is that he will put out another classic album, I even consider 'The Art Of Storytelling' worthy of that title.

I haven't heard his verse with Cham yet although it sounds exciting. Anyone else find it difficult to compile a good unreleased/b side/guest spot Slick Rick collection?

There's some whack J Love mixtape with short joints in crappy quality, but I really need more tracks like 'Trouble' 'Women Lose Weight' and 'Sleazy Gynaecologist' to nurse my unrelenting anticipation for more material.

There's some Japanese EP on wax floating around with five unreleased cuts on it but I haven't invested the time or money to hunt it down yet.

Download 'Trouble' if you haven't heard it, such a fucken ill story.
