is a very good rap album. what do you guys think?

the only flaw as i see it is that black thought doesn't have enough personality to shoulder a "character"-driven album.

How I Got Over was pretty good too (if anyone missed that one). I think it was overshadowed by the John Legend & The Roots album.

I've been preaching about it to friends all kinds. It's great.

Black Thought is an afterthought for me throughout the album. He's overshadowed by whoever is featured on most of the tracks. That's not a knock on Black Thought either, he will always be good and consistent it's just people like Dice and Porn stepped up to the plate. Them two specifically went all Prodigy on me and each verse begins with great opening lines. I do keep forgetting it's a concept album though, if I never read what it's about I don't think I would have picked up on it.

Dice Raw killed it. There's about 30 minutes of rapping on 9 songs on this album. They're all dope though. I wish "Sleep" was 30 minutes along. Such a moody track.

Anyone see the combined short film of all music videos they released?

By the way, anyone peep the Money Making Jam Boys mixtape from about...10 months ago? I passed on it at first but I'm going to check it out.

it's good. it reminds me of when i first learned how to rob the music industry and make metallica's and dr. dre's children starve and started systematically downloading every not-found-in-the-burbs album i'd ever heard lavished with praise. sts from mmjb had a good decent release this year called the illustrious. lord help philadelphia if he, meek mill, peedi and freeway ever jump on a track together.

Meek Mill killed Ambition (the song). Aside from jams like House Party and I'm a Boss, I don't see the big deal with this guy. What am I missing?

flavor of the moment + backed by rick ross?

i don't know how big he actually is. in philly, i hear dream chasers rattling every where. i came home from the holidays, and no one knows who he is outside of tupac back and shit.

amazing record, the roots never disappoint. at first i couldn't get into the instrumentals, but it grew on me now its one of the very few 2011 albums that doesn't require the skip button.
