The dvd's comin out at the end of the year are the same shit as the laser disc versions. Lucas isn't even gonna remaster them or anything, he's just puttin them on dvd so people will stop bitchin about the originals not being on dvd.

When you say these are being put on DVD...what the hell do you mean? The DVD's are out, or do you mean the true OG versions of Star Wars?

Either way, I don't give a shit. I think he should just put them on BluRay.

they're releasing the original versions on DVD, George Lucas says he lost the original film or something so its only going to be the laserdisc copy, no remastered copy that most people really want.

How the hell do you lose something like that? No, really, is there some sort of explanation?
Yes, he's lying. I cannot believe he just lost it. Like he just tossed them in his attic and 22 years later was cleaning it out and couldn't find them. He doesn't conisder the OG's the "true" films, so he'd rather forget about them.

Basically he said that when he did the "special edition" version, they worked straight on the original reels and hence lost the original versions. All that was left was the Laser Disc remasters that were made a while back or so he says. Which is bullshit since more than one reel are made while making a money. It's just like Dogmatic said, Lucas hates the original version and sees the special editions as the definitive versions. Thats why he doesn't wanna spend money on remastering the original versions when he doesn't even like them.
