in the english sense of the term they aren't my nephews and nieces per se. I only have one sister and she has no kids.

but because indian families are so close many cousins refer to each other as brothers and sisters, so my nephews and nieces are all kids of my various cousins which I have a lot of, lol.

and they all call me uncle.

^^ Yeah that was the point I was trying to make, Asian families are all ways close. I had a friend called Vickrim who was Indian, and people would stop and say hello and I'd be like "Who was that?" and his most common reply was "My Cousin".
