For the longest time now I've had this track, but I downloaded the RNS M&D rip the other day and noticed that the last guy who raps (Tri-Star?) has a couple more lines in the RNS version, which got me wondering how the version I've had came about?

here's a comparison I made between the two so y'all know what the fuck I'm talking about, lol
Um Dumpin Comparison

I guess I've always had the RNS version with the extra bars cuz I've never heard of this before

good topic

Perhaps your version may be the result of removing the tags from the original tagged version? I remember the track originally leaked tagged, so maybe this was just a way of removing the tag(s)...

good theory. Anyone else? lazie might have hit it on the head though

Damn it. After reading this post and downloading your comparison, I realised that I have the shorter version. I also have a third version that was released on "madeniggaz.net" ( I think ) as an "alternate version." It has Pac doing a chorus(...Young nigga 'cause it's time to dump, I'm versitile motherfucker, what type of rhymes you want? " ) and omits some of the Young Assassins' verses. But I don't have the second one in your comparison. The one with the longer verse. Mine ends at "dumpin dumpin, got these bitch niggas jumpin'. " I guess I'll have to look for the longer one now.....I never knew a longer one existed.

While I myself have 3 versions of the track, each ripped from a different version of Makaveli & dillinger, none of them are cut short. So this leads me to believe 1 of 3 things. 1) you legitimately have a early mix (doubtfull) 2) you have a dj edit done for the net (likely) 3) or snce I don't have this version to check against, this could be the rip from the makaveli & dillinger "The Whole Album" release. I'll look into it further, but as of now I'm leaning towards net edit.

give me the time of the change and i'll check all versions of the release.

At about 3:47 is a good place to start to listen. Again, I checked 3 different versions and never heard anything cut short like this, so I'll be interested in hearing where this edit originated from.

There's another difference in these two tracks. There's one point in the longer version of the song where Tupac's lyrics are as follows "Murderous mindstate, Can't keep my mind straight, sippin' on this hennesey waitin' for the time to break..." In the shorter version, some of these lyrics are dubbed over so it's made to sound like Tupac says "Murderous mindstate, can't keep my mind straight, sippin' on this hennesey dumpin'." Just noticed it a short time ago, as I was just recently able to download the longer version. Just thought I'd point it out.
