It was two doctors that were the terrorists. Makes it worse that these are 2 people who should be seen as pillers of your community.

just to add to all this, according to this article and several other sources, the US had very credible information regarding terror attacks in Glasgow and Prague, Czech Republic "against airport infrastructure and aircrafts" and didn't even bother to warn these countries. and the US wonders why everyone hates them so much? i suppose they should be grateful these attacks or attempted attacks didn't turn out as they were planned, but still, how can you have info like that and not pass it along?

5 of the 8 people arrested so far are doctors and i read about a 6th doctor whose home was raided.

I read a similar account from an extremist who saud that our foreign policy doesn't mean shit to them. They aren't bothered about the war in the middle east. Their goal is to create a huge Islamic state (read Islamic World).... And that anyone who isn't a Muslim is in fact an ifidel... And needs to be exterminated. Their lack of education and understanding is frightening. I have read the Qu'ran.... And half of what they preach is false, and the other half is taken out of context....
I agree... I don't have conviction in the point I made....
But... If someone is given citizenship... Say British... and then they preach hate and encourage attacks on their "new" country... Surely this is enough to remove his citizenship and stick him on the next boat going East.... Most of the danger is coming from within... With stricter immigration.... and a low tolerance to "treason"... The danger will be reduced....
All this does is encourage less educated westerners to develop a hatred to Muslim's and those they peceive to be the "enemy"... The people who lose are those who are hurt in the terrorist attacks or those who lose family... And also the law abiding and peace loving Muslims... Those who follow the true words of Allah....
THe only way this can be stopped is if the Muslim community were to realise that they need to stand up and speak out against this rotten apple. Instead of feeling persecuted when Police stop and search... Feel reassured the Police are working to remove the danger... Instead of uniting with their muslim brothers... Unite with their british brothers...
All we are achieveing here is segregation and distrust on both sides.

I agree with your post Pittsey,but these terrorists are targeting Britain.If they want to create a huge Islamic state wouldnt they be carrying out attacks in many other countries.?I know they attacked Spain as well but then Spain did send troops to Iraq.
Their goals aren't to create an Islamic state because killing civilians in a western country cannot achieve that goal. Now, if you want to talk about people trying to create an Islamic state, ask why the US and the UK are so keen on creating an Islamic state in the middle of Europe (Kosovo).
actually they have made attacks in other countries. you have to really look past recent years and go back a few decades. they have been waging this war for most of the 20th century. i have seen some authors say they can trace radical islams war against the west all the way back to the 18th century.

there are some other good documentarys out there on the subject too that show a long history of radical islamists terrorist related attacks all over the world
They want to raise attention to their "cause" and recruit people this way; with more members they probably think that eventually they will have a "state."
That is why the attacks are all high profile targets. You dont see them trying to cripple any military targets for strategic purposes, it just wouldnt get the same media attention.
Anyway, two Australian doctors were arrested as they tried to fly out of the country, both from India, in relation to this. Not sure exactly what kind of relation as of last nights news, perhaps Ill hear something new today...
They target civilians because they can't effectively target military personnel. It's much easier to bomb a shopping mall than a military base. "Weapons of the weak".
