I dont think that hoodies should be banned although i agree with the fact that hoods should be worn down in some cases - there is a lot of crime being commited by punk kids who cannot be identified by witneses etc so i can understand why shopping centers have banned them , it must be intimidating to the elderly , woman etc , i personaly find it amusing seeing these 15 year olds strut around in packs weighing eight stone thinking there hard and some ( not all ) of these kids should be strung up , but that doesnt mean that anyone who wears a hoodie is bad , i mean summers coming to the u.k. anyway so why wear the hood up or one at all . oh what am i arguing for - fuck it hang all punk teenagers

I totally agree with the ban, for security reasons in shopping centers and public places. Cameras need to identify criminals, the chav / yob culture that is taking over the youth today is disgraceful. I own a few light hoodys myself (not those ugly larger ones, that either rudeboys or chavs wear) But never see a need to wear my hood up (ruins my hair!!).

For people who cant understand the logic, its todo with MANY (not everyone) use the hoody to avoid being identified. Groups of youths roam around in huge numbers, causing trouble and even attacking members of the public or 'rival' gangs or what not. Wearing the hood up not only prevents CCTV from doing its job, but also the defendent cannot get a possitve look at their attacker.

Why does somebody need to wear a hoody indoors? In a shopping center (I mean with the hood up) anyway?

ALSO, as far as ive heard. Its just the wearing of the hood up that will be banned in some public places. You can still wear the item of clothing, just with the hood down.

It's only because people use hoodies to hide their faces. Same with baseball caps.

I think it's fair. They are only banned in shopping centres/pubs.
