Tupac's References to God

I understand how it's gotten here, but this isn't a thread about abortion rights. It's about whether Tupac believed in God. For my part, I think it's run its course.

I think he believed in (a) god and this doesn't bother me at all.

Tupac was convinced that he and his people were in a horrible place and there was no one in this world to help him/them. He reached out to God to free him from his pain. I think that's what makes his music so incredibly powerful. Not only does it not bother me, it would detract from his music if he hadn't done it imo

^ I'm almost sure that he did believe in God. I think God was important in his life. He mentioned him far too often to be an unbeliever.

Doesn't a belief in God make you kind of religious, even if you don't follow the rules of any specific religion?

I think if you took Tupac's references to god out of his music, it would severly detract from it. Those appeals to god went a long way to creating the hopeless feeling in his music that many of us relate(d) to. That being said, I do not believe in any higher power in the slightest. However, there were times in the past when I did wish there was a higher power out there to help me out.

Really? You can't hear the sincerity in his voice in countless songs where he's screaming to God for help or intervention? Not only did he believe in God, I think he believed in God more than anything else in his life.
