You guys read about Tupac’s estate winning in the news?
Tupac's estate is getting a treasure trove of unreleased music, although not as much cash as it wanted.

We've learned Tupac's estate has settled its lawsuit against Entertainment One, the company it sued because the estate claimed E.O. had screwed it over royalties to the tune of 7 figures.

Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ, Entertainment One will pay the estate a substantial 6-figure amount. But, there's something way more significant.

Tupac's mom, Afeni Shakur, was the administrator of Tupac's estate back in 2013 and sued Entertainment One to get a bunch of unreleased master recordings her son had made.

Afeni died in 2016, but the lawsuit trudged on ... until this week. We've learned those unreleased masters will now go back to the estate. We're told the value of the recordings is huge.

That’s some good news for us, maybe some new music in the near future?

he was selling footage. he started a gofundme or some shit and i think he ran off with the little bit of money he got. i forgot what the project was exactly called... 7 dayz or something like that.

hasn't been updated in over 2 years and yet you can still donate

How does the site work? Says total is somewhere around $12k, but says 2 people got the $50,000 package?

hmmm that's weird. i'm not sure but good catch. maybe they got some sort of refund because of the high donation.

why does anybody need $300,000 to release unreleased footage?

To be fair, Entertainment One got screwed big time. They bought Deathrow Records for its music, namely 2pac music. They paid their big millions and got it fair and square. They did that assuming they would be able to release albums with that music, as there's hardly anything else that's useful there (other than being able to use the "Deathrow Records" name for potential tv programs and books). Unfortunately, they bought it together with the legal issues, which were specified in the contract, but this one was apparently not mentioned in the original contract, because it didn't exist.

Literally just after the deal went through, Tupac's estate sued them, virtually blocking any potential album releases for those 5 years. From their perspective, they paid for Deathrow in full, now they're paying again to Tupac's estate, and on top of that lose all their assets that mattered with the Deathrow acquisition. Talk about a bad deal.

Also, can't get over a fact that Deathrow Records is a Canadian company now.

Regardless, I hope this means good news for us. I just want to hear new 2pac music, hopefully in its original form, in good quality.

So apparently there’s 2-3 albums worth of unreleased music as part of the settlement. I’m assuming Death Row era.

That's very exciting, as it's my favorite era anyway. Let's hope they come out as soon as possible, so we finally get new 2pac music and so they don't have enough time to screw it up.

I’d rather they didn’t rush it and take the time to mix and master the DATs properly, get the marketing right, etc
