Trust and the NHS

I address a few points regarding the system around the NHS in the uk, especially

I like and understand the subject of Biology, grew up reading encyclopedias of the human body. My dilemma lies in trusting doctors over the judgement of what you put into your body. I read an inspiring Bruce Lee quote, I am not on some martial art shit here, He had a philosophy, one of the quotes he said struck me - "if my body isn't good enough to endure what I put it through, then I am better off dead." He said that quote in the context of the exercise of jogging, it wasn't till he took a pain killer, advised by his friend, that he then died.

people say to trust your doctor, that is what I was always taught, like doctors orders, number 9. People say that to me now, and I say 'what? .. like Harold Shipman?'

There is a war on drugs in this world, a war that involves drugs, and the NHS is the biggest user of drugs here in the uk. Politicians talk about drugs being illegal, yet the NHS, one of the biggest institutions here, is based on the use of drugs. talk about drug dealers, my pharmacist is a drug dealer. I prefer the liquor store though

Yeshua, unless you've studied chemistry, physics or biology at a university level you do not understand them. Reading an encylopedia or watching some documentaries doesn't mean jack shit. They are basically the subjects explained on a very elementary/simplified level for the masses.

Not trusting your doctor is dumb. If you knew even half the shit doctors had to know to get to where they are you would understand this. The problem comes in where people expect doctors to just know everything. Its impossible to know how a person is going to react to a specific medication. If you take medication a doctor recommended and you get fatally ill, but thousands of others have taken it and been fine its not the doctors fault. He has no way of knowing you are the odd .0001% out.

You can't compare drug dealing in a street fashion to pharmeceuticals. The reaon drugs like cocaine, heroin, crack, acid, zoomers, etc. are illegal is because they either have no known health benefits, are extremely addictive, severely impair judgement or a combination of the above. I always find it funny how people talk down on pharmeceuticals. I mean its not like they're a major part of the reason average life expectency is 70 years old compared to 50 years old or anything.

So basically you don't believe any of the principles that our entire society is founded on?

^ so basically you dont question ethics or morals when it comes to the use of drugs. if the NHS is founded on drug use as a form of treatment, do you believe politicians when they say drugs are bad? it is a question of ethics

Read my first post. You're acting like every drug is the same. Drugs are like people, each and every one has different and unique properties. Some of those are good, some of them are bad.
