"Critics and biters don't know where my source o' light is / Still leave authors and writers with arth-er-ritis"

not gonna make a top ten list, but MTV got one thing right:

1. Paid in Full

Fuck Paid in Full. Both albums after it were better.

While I'm at it, fuck Big L's first album, too. If Big Brother L had been around you motherfuckers would've never known he existed.

^^Bullshit, fuck you son. Both albums after Paid In Full were better lyrically, but a lot of the songs sucked ass, every song on Paid In Full fuckin' rules. Same with Big L's shit. How you know nobody would know Big L, I listen to all DITC shit since way back, doesn't matter that he's dead, he kicks ass.

Lmao at this kid who thinks Tribe was underground and that he's up on rare shit because he goes to cocaineblunts everyday. I bet you're bumping "Chinese Arithmetic" right now, yeah, that's some classic shit.

Lord Finesse > Big L
Runaway Slave; Full Scale; Funky Technician; Return of the Funky Man; Stunts, Blunts, and Hip-Hop > Lifestyles ov da Poor and Dangerous

Kids need to get off this necrophiliac shit. I can think of a dozen or so albums in 1995 alone that were better than Big L's shit.

^ Do you mean "Goodfellas"? Wasn't "Full Scale" an EP? Don't forget O.C.'s shit either. In fact, most of the DITC material before about 1998 bar maybe Fat Joe's stuff was better than "Lifestylez..."/

My top ten list would probably go something like this:

"It Takes A Nation..."
"The Low End Theory"
"Illmatic"

"Straight Outta Compton"
"AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted"
"Death Certificate"
"The Chronic"

"Soul Food"

I'd have to think hard about the other two.. it'd probably be between Big Daddy Kane's first, UltraMag's first, Brand Nubian's first, and Slick Rick's first.

Props to the guy who put "Soul Food".

I won't put them in order because that's where Stanley's will get hurt.

Common - Resurrection (I'd like to put ODIAMS in here instead but it will raise a few eyebrows)
Outkast - Aquemini
A Tribe Called Quest - Midnight Marauders
Nas - Illmatic
Public Enemy - Fear Of A Black Planet
KRS-One - Criminal Minded
Jay-Z - Reasonable Doubt
Eric B & Rakim - Paid In Full (talk about being rail roaded into picking this...)
Slick Rick - The Great Adventures Of Slick Rick
Beastie Boys - Pauls Boutique
