he's dead. David Chase, the creator of the show, has said this several times. plus, all you really have to do is look at the second last episode for the clue. when Bobby and Tony are talking, Boby says "you probably don't feel the one that gets you, you won't even know," something to that effect. hence the way the show just stops the way it did. but yes, Tony is definitely dead.
