i wrote this to get out some frustrations....after putting Poet Lauereate II on in my car the other day (one of my fav songs EVER)...the first lineis a paraphrase of what one of my friends-friends had to say...so i thought id "take him to school" wih this peice...enjoy
Today’s Lesson -22 Feb 2006
"duhh.. yo yo niggER G in the hood; what is this?"
"its the unparalleled malleable enunciation of a sentence
..its the invention of hip-hop, a grossly underrated ART
of which has 9 elements.. equally underrated as they are
-hmm, let me just start with what’s written in its lyrics
..specifically what’s written, as it gets progressively definitive
-if you listen to its lyricists, you'll hear in-depth stories
with so much word-play and intelligence in in-depth assortments
..without ignoring the fact that no other genre is as creative
-as having a 200 bar articulation taking different perspective places
and in case you didn’t notice its humor, 'punch lines' & its sadness
-no other genre has used such a wide array of vocab, its
..just sad the commercial aspect of this element doesn’t show this..
-once used as a successful political tool to provoke things
..when people felt 'hopeless'.. its words were used to unite
its broken down racial barriers, and its saved peoples lives
..but I’m.. getting off track here.. let me get back to the music
with love stories so luminous, and 'diss' tracks so subdued, it
..alludes me how people can't see its diversity in content
-also, often ignored are its musical composition accomplishments..
its often been stated as being the most artistic endeavor ever
-using guitar rifts, beats, loops, and scratches instead of..
..lesser.. instruments, for example: samples from Beethoven’s 9th
-could be mixed in with bass lines from the Jackson 5..
..so 'why?' you may ask, hasn’t hip-hop made more of a impression, its
-the answer to the question.. its still in its development..
-and that’s just the first element, I can always continue with the second?"

...yeah vocab could be a bit over the top....but it was in a Canibus type vien given the nature of why i wrote the peice, so thats prolly why...but ah well, as long as the message gets across
