Timberlands with tags on?

why do so many people leave the tags on their timberlands?
i have 2 pairs now and have owned several in the past, and i've always taken the tag off. personally i think it looks stupid with them on.
do you prefer them with the tags on or off?

Without the tag, Timbs look stupid to me. The tag is what distinguishes them from any other boots. Whenever I buy some, I definately leave the tag on.

i guess if you have the classic suede brown ones then you could wear them because they might be confused with fakes.. but the rest of the colors are pretty distinguished

I personally think it's very sad to leave the tags on. Do you also wear clothes with huge labels on them. Just so everyone knows you've spent a lot of money. I spend a lot on clothes. But I buy them because I like them, not so everyone knows I have spent a lot.
