What may surprise some of you, considering some of you think you know what I dress like alllll the time, I actually have developed a tie, and to a lesser extent cuff link, addiction.

Ive seriously got like 40 different ties now.

Anyone else on the formal side of addictions?
 
i hate ties with a passion and to be honest i hate anything in that genre of clothing, especially shoes, i fucking hate them big time, the first thing i do when i get home from work is put on my reebok classics, even if i dont take the rest of my shit off, the shoes all ways will.

yep. i have an obsession with good looking business attire. suits, shoes, socks, cufflinks, shirts, ties...

some people abuse the beauty of business attire. ive seen people wear sloppy suits, horrible shirt/tie combinations, and really oversized pants. not to mention shoes.. if your shoes are gross, dont wear them with a suit.

another thing, people who wear sneakers with suits are retards. suits + sneakers are not compatible, no matter who you are or where youre from
 
I prefer to dress up rather than wear normal clothes. It is fun (also, I am homopersons). I have a lot of ties, but for the most part I am fan of solid colors only and sometimes the diagonally-striped ties.

The fun thing about dressing up (wearing ties, vests, cuff links, etc) is that you can show off more of 'you'. Sometimes just jeans and a tee don't do it.
 
I'm not much into ties, but I love putting a blazer on, a nice shirt underneath with jeans and then some nice casual shoes.

However, when I get into the business school, I might go with the "dress for success" type of look, with the tie and all. :D

me too.

the thing is, here in the UK most schools have school uniform so up until I was 16 and got expelled I HAD to wear a shirt, tie, smart trousers and shoes. everybody did. it scars you for life. I used to carry around a baggy hoodie in my backpack and slip it on over it when I was out of school grounds.

I can see me wearing that stuff maybe when I'm older, but only some really seriously funky stuff like the kinds Prince rocks these days.

i openly disagree.

at work i am required to wear suit pants and a shirt of my choice with a black sweater over. now in my field of work i pretty much stand for my entire shift bar the lunch. a pair of traditionally nice shoes aren't gonna feel very good. i wear some very subtle, black slippers but i have wore sneakers at work several times and it's a question of being comfortable rather than looking like a stiff. because i didn't go to work to look good, i went there to get money and i will do what it absolutely requires me to do but that's also where i'll stop.
 
i love seeing a man wearing a suit. you can be so creative with a suit.

i like women who wear suits or very business clothing. i'd love to look like that one day, but right now i don't feel the need to wear that type of clothing.

i also loooove high heels. but i can't fucking wear them without bitching at the end of the day about how much my feet hurt.
 
i'm usually a t-shirt and jeans kind of person but yea i have a good amount of nice dress clothes. i only dress professional for work. nice shirt, tie, slacks. although my shoes are usually casual timbs and sometimes i can get away with all black chucks :D

I'm not a formal wear kind of guy. I don't feel comfortable in them. It's nice to wear every now and then though. I think if you wear it regularly it loses it's "specialness".
I'd love to be able to walk around with ketchup-stained sweats all day.

I dont really do vests, but I have a couple pull over sleeveless dress jumpers I throw over a nice dress shirt to stay warm and add something extra.
 
^First the gay thread and now this. I am starting to wonder if that "friend" you speak of is not really you.

And milly man if you were scarred by wearing school uniforms then you are emotionally unstable or something.

I am a fan of suits and business attire myself though i dont own one. Never really needed it for an occasion. I do however had the shoes and the tie.



PS. White socks with black shoes is so whutuvaaaaaaaa
