So, whats UMD exactly. Just movie format for the PSP? Im thinking of buying one but dont know too much about them because no one i know has one.

I've got 1. It's a jap import region 2 which means I can't play US UMD's on it. As they are Region 1. Australia is Region 2 too right?

UMD is the format of the disks. A bit like DVD.

I don't have any games yet though.


I bought it as I hate planes and I'm doing a lot of flying this summer.

can i play that on a Jap psp?

No region 2 only on Jap. US UMD's are Region 1. Unless it's Region free, I haven't checked.

Dunno yet. The games are in the post. I've had it a month and haven't played it yet. Ordered the games today. Get them in a couple of days.

Sorry to go off topic but try to use the abbreviation JPN instead of JAP. Jpn is much better.

with PSP´s only the USA & Canada have region 1 the rest is regon 2. The games are all region free...

UMD means universal media disc, anything released for the PSP is pressed on UMD
