If Tookie gets executed you think there will be some problems, like with what happened with Rodney. It is not too far fetched if you ask me.

If Arnold does save him I don't think he will be re-elected either. Most of his voters are the rich white group of California and well, no need to get into it. I'm pretty sure a lot of people will be upset with him, especially the families. They had some of them on Fox News and I think it is unfair, the whole show was basically Tookie is a murderer he deserves to die. They didn't talk about new evidence or the even the new witness coming out of nowhere, sad. I'm hoping he will be saved. Anyone in prison actually doing something positive is not something to be lost. If we are going to make an example out of something make it out of something positive not negative. I don't know what do you guys think the outcome of all this will be.

i look at the new evidence as an ace up a persons sleeve waiting for the right time to play the hand. also, why has it taken this long to come out with this?

arnold is against the death penalty. but he just said he wont be saving tookies life.

i think there is more evidence against tookie that says he did commit these crimes than there is that he did not. the case has been looked at by the courts like 5 times.

there is no real proof that what he is doing in prison has done any good. he has written 9 books. he didnt even really write them. some of the early ones were written by a friend of his while he was trying to convince the courts he was mentally ill.

i think this is all a big PR stunt, not for tookie, but for reasons against the death penalty. he is being used by hollywood liberals. i dont totally agree with the death penalty, but you have to look at it from another point of view. who pays for these criminals to live out the rest of their life? the tax payers. is it fair to divert money away from important things like education so that some animals that have no place in this society can live a longer life than their victims got?

the 9th circuit, the most liberal court in the country, said there is enough evidence that he did these crime.

how many books have tookie sold? out of all of the nine books he has put out, what was the highest number of units sold? look into that.

also people that are around him on a daily basis that work at the prison say he has not changed at all. the only people i see saying he has changed are his lawyers, hollywood, and dick riders that dont want to look at this case from all points of view.

I highly doubt that there is going to be any riots since Rodney King was brutally beaten while Tookie killed innocent people. I am pretty sure law enforcement here will be on high alert.

Tookie is pretty much going to die. Arnold will not save him, last week he was suppose to decide to whether Tookie lives or dies but he never gave a responce and still hasn't. Tookie's lawyers have been meeting with the Governor, so pretty much Armold has decided to let Tookie die. Either way Armold chooses (let Tookie live, or not) he will not be re-elected. He fucked with the union, school teachers, law enforcement, firefighters, paramedics and he lost with his ballot measures. His approval rating has been steadly going down.

also what i cant believe is that he can save the life of strangers and help kids stay out of a life of crime and gang activity, but he cant stop his own children? his kids are animals. what kind of a shitty human being puts a gun to a 13 year olds head and forces her to perform oral sex on them?

The thing is this mans life should be spared, they aren't even entirely sure he is guilty anyway. Name one inmate trying to do something good. He is writing books, does it matter how many units he moves or anything, just changing one childs life is enough for me, especially behind bars. Just like I was saying, yeah he did do bad, let him spend his life in jail for that but at least make a good example out of people doing something good. We dont reward that but we are quick to punish, that is the problem I have. There will be more negative out of this than positive. Deny all you want but this is a racially charged issue, republican democrat, black white, its here. This is just goin to seperate things more. The politics behind it are bullshit too, you know damn well if he granted clemency he would not be re-elected, but this gives him a chance at least. Its the big issues that count not school issues, lawmakers or whatever someone else said, just look at our last presiedential election. Terrorism won him that vote, not his failure on issues that actually exist. I just thinks its sad, from one point of view you could say prison works and use this, isnt this what prison is for. It upsets me really, but whatever, he will die tomorrow.

I dont believe in capital punishment. We shouldnt decided when a man has to leave this life or not. Give him life. But dont kill him.

they should not let a man sit on DR for as long as he did... if they going to put you under the gas or lethal injection... they should wait nolonger than about 5yrs

how can you not be rehabilitated after 24 yrs?

i agree with you, and although tookie really turned his life around and in many ways made up for what he did in his past, the point still remains that he did get convicted of multiple counts of murder and received a sentence for it. i thought arnold would see it as black and white as this and not do shit...

the real crime here isn't arnold - it's that tookie was left to get hope over the years for a reversal that would have been extremely unlikely.

agreed. i dont believe in the death penalty. its basically taking the role of god. they shouldve left him in prison where he couldve made a bigger difference
