This is my thread

The ear pads got destroyed. Fine, I'll order a pair for like $6 on Amazon instead of buying new headphones.

Masta and his goddamn rationality.

haha, they will make all the difference. I ordered new pads for about the same and the headphones sound amazing again. You'll be surprised. Just buy original ones, or at least good quality ones made specifically for those models.

So I bought Chromecast for my mom a while back but quickly realized it's quite useless if you're not streaming from Google Services (YouTube).

What's the best solution to streaming anything from your Nexus 7 on your TV? Ideally, wirelessly.

Doesn't Netflix work? Or can you not view your screen on the TV so you can browse Facebook or some shit with a bigger screen?

I dunno. I think people lost their shit over ChromeCast only because of the price. $35 to have something new and shiny.

They haven't publically released the SDK for Chromecast yet, so any apps have to be whitelisted by Google. There was an app available that let you push anything from your device to the Chromecast, but Google blocked it with a software update.

I believe the SDK is being made available in a month or so. Google are hosting a Chromecast hackathon soon for developers to see what kind of stuff they can come up with.

Depends on the TV. Best solutions are related to TVs software (such as Samsung's Smart TV). Also, you can hook up your TV to a PC, which is the easiest and most functional thing ever - endless possibilities there.

For instance, you can remotely access your PC via N7 and vice versa, and see everything on your TV.

How do you do this remote access?

There are many solutions that connect over home wifi network. TV is hooked up to PC via HDMI. There's an app called Unified Remote, for instance, as my favorite way is basically using the Nexus 7 as a remote for the PC. But it also includes many other features, including controls for browsers, music and video players, file browser and streaming etc.

If you are going to connect your PC to the TV (how very 10 years ago) the best way is to run XBMC and use it's many add-ons to get the content you want. Then use the android app to control it.

What? I still connect my laptop to my TV, especially when I wanted to stream games that were not on TV. Or watching Netflix. I guess there's an app for the latter, but I would rather connect my laptop to my TV rather than buying an Apple TV or Google TV.

Speaking of Google TV, that shit flopped hard, amirite?

Hasn't become what it should be yet. Apple TV is also a flop. The only reason people buy the Apple TV (and they only buy ATV2) is to jailbreak it and stick XBMC on.

If Google could put out a better product. Something that can be powered by a TV's USB, like the ATV. Get a decent XBMC port on it. They would clean up.

I am waiting for the above. At the moment I am using a Lenovo M90 USFF PC. http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2368962,00.asp It's tiny, but the review doesn't show it. It also has an i5 CPU. But at £600 it isn't cheap. A Revo at £150 is probably still the best option.

Or.... For those with a small budget. A Raspberry Pi with RaspXBMC on it, is a pretty decent option for cheap.

Yeah. I guess. Google hasn't really been pushing it much either. Or making many updates to it.

Even the GTV website is pushing TVs with the Google software inside of it, as opposed to a box, like the Logitech Revue.

I honestly would be fine connecting my laptop to a decent monitor and streaming Netflix or Hulu or whatever through that. I don't have my own place with my own friends, where streaming music or Netflix from my laptop connected to a flat screen would be too awkward or confusing. Maybe when I have my own place, the Smart TVs with their apps would be a better choice.

This game is out of hand so far, New Orleans can't get anything going.

I've been listening to Chance the Rapper a lot lately, like all day everyday, dude is what Wayne wishes he became

I bumped Acid Rap a while back when my hipster roommate turned me onto him. Not feeling it. Mostly because all I can bump lately is Lil Durk, Lil Reese, Fredo Santana, King Louie, and Lil Bibby. lol
