I can't list every decent UK TV show. Also... Not everything translates well. Which is why the US takes our best shows and remakes them with varying success.


Next thing you'll be moaning that I didn't recommend Coupling, when it ended 10 years ago.

Really? HBO and Showtime have shows that the Brits follow religiously as well. When I was there, I asked a family friend's daughter, who was in high school, what shows were big there and she mentioned The Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, GoT, Mad Men, Dexter, etc. and just went on. All US shows.

And those are all dramas. I'm sure you were exaggerating but UK shows are great and all, but nothing has kept me as entertained as Seinfeld. Pittsey mentioned US "revisions" of UK shows, and I like the US Office better. I can appreciate the UK one for what it is.

I think you just want to watch something that no one else does. Hipster.

Your friend's daughter is correct.... But.... Those shows are on fairly obscure channels. They aren't on mainstream channels. Most people don't watch FX over here. And Breaking Bad wasn't broadcast really. Only the first few seasons, which aired before most caught onto it. They are accessing these shows through Netflix and the like.

Things like the Office were more accessible. They were on BBC.
