Where can you get some of this guys books from?

The same place you buy any other book...the book store.

Barnes & Noble, Borders, Walden Books, etc...

If you go to buy one, they probably won't have it in stock so you'll probably have to special order it.

wtf, it was probaly something he spat out when he was drunk, kids get tangled up in to much shit when it comes to rap

You're still an idiot. Why is it that everytime Pac spits something that people question it's meaning some dumbass comes with "he probably just said it cuz he was drunk" or "he probably just said it cuz it rhymes".

Pac wasn't that type of rapper.

OH...and I'm 28, dogg, hardly a kid.

Almost every other rapper released a song at one time or another with their own "10 rules to the game", so don't look too much into it.

I've never heard any other rapper I've listened to EVER talk about "10 rules to the game". That list of rappers I've listened to include Snoop, Dre, Warren G., Ice Cube, Method Man, Jermaine Dupri, Tha Dogg Pound, Fresh Prince, Big Daddy Kane, MC Hammer, Lil Wayne, Rakim, Run DMC, Young MC, D12, Eminem, Obie Trice, The Game, Young Buck, Lloyd Banks, NWA, Westside Connection and I could keep going on some other names, but you get the point.

2pac was a VERY AWARE rapper. He wasn't the type of rapper to just "write something cuz it rhymed". Pac had a reason for writing every thing he wrote. He didn't just throw shit togethether cuz it rhymed or because it sounded cool.

I can't believe this guy claims to have been listening to hip-hop for over two decades.

I love responses like this, where people wanna knock you, but don't actually offer anything of substance.

I always figured it was refering to either 1. the rap game or 2. life.
I lean more towards life since near the beginning of the verse he says:
I got advice from my father, all he told me was this
And he continues that throughout the verse. I couldnt imagine something that deep being about the rap game by itself.

Exactly. I laugh at the idiots in here, whose names I won't mention because they know who they are, who come in here and say "he probably just said it cuz he's drunk", or try to convince you he just used it cuz it rhymed or sounded good. We all know 2pac wasn't that kind of rapper. If we were talking about Obie Trice or Lil Wayne or Method Man, then I might say "ok, yeah, he said it cuz he thought it sounded cool", but not with Pac.

And yes, I gree with you. I have always believed he's talking about the game of life as well.

And he continues that throughout the verse. I couldnt imagine something that deep being about the rap game by itself.

Nor could I imagine something that deep being written because "he was drunk" or "because it sounded cool".

You do come up with crazy shit when your high. But I think because of Pac's background and upbringing with a whole family full of black panthers its more likely it was a mixture of both.

Blasphemy Lyrics

(feat. Prince Ital)

[music from To Live & Die in L.A. fades]

[This Week in Bible Prophecy]
God has a plan -- and the bible unfolds that wonderful plan
through the message of prophecy
God sent Jesus into this world to be our saviour
And that Christ is returning, someday soon
to unfold the wonderful plan of eternity, for my life and your life
As long as we're cooperating with God
by accepting Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and saviour
And as the Lord does return in the coming seven days
We'll see you next time here on This Week in Bible Prophecy

[Tupac]
Tupac don't start that blasphemy in here!
Makaveli, the new breed -- and I remember what my pops told me
The new word, follow me -- remember what my pops told me

My family tree, consists of drug dealers, thugs and killers
Strugglin, known to hustle screamin fuck they feelings
I got advice from my father, all he told me was this
Niggaz, get off your ass if you plan to be rich
There's ten rules to the game, but I'll share with you two
Know, niggaz gon' hate you for whatever you do
Now rule one -- get your cash on, M.O.B.
That's Money Over Bitches, cause they breed envy
Now rule two is a hard one, watch for phonies
Keep yo', enemies close nigga, watch yo' homies
It seemed a little unimportant, when he told me I smiled
Picture jewels being handed, to an innocent child
I never knew in my lifetime I'd live by these rules
Initiated as an outlaw, studying rules
Now papa ain't around, so I gotta recall
or come to grips with bein on my enemy's wall (rest in peace)
Promised if I have a seed, I'ma guide him right
Dear Lord don't let me die tonite
I got words for my comrades, listen and learn
Ain't nuttin free, give back what you earn, no doubt
Gettin higher than a motherfucker, blessed and pleased
This Thug Life'll be the death of me, c'mon, yeah

And I remember what my papa told me
Remember what my papa told me, blasphemy

[Chorus: Prince Ital]

Love for dem dat steal in the name of da Lord
Dem a tell nuff lie but holdin my bird in a cloud
Usin de name of de Lord in vein
While de people in de ghetto, feel nuff pain

[Tupac]
We probably in Hell already, our dumb asses not knowin
Everybody kissin ass to go to heaven ain't goin
Put my soul on it, I'm fightin devil niggaz daily
Plus the media be crucifying brothers severly
Tell me I ain't God's son, nigga mom a virgin
We got addicted had to leave the burbs, back in the ghetto
doin wild shit, lookin at the sun don't pay
Criminal mind all the time, wait for Judgment Day
They say Moses split the Red Sea
I split the blunt and rolled the fat one, I'm deadly -- Babylon beware
Comin from the Pharoahe's kids, retaliation
Makin legends off the shit we did, still bullshittin
Niggaz in Jerusalem, waitin for signs
God promised, she's just takin her time, haha
Living by the Nile while the water flows
I'm contemplating plots wondering which door to go
Brothas getting shot, comin back resurrected
It's just that raw shit, nigga check it (that raw shit)

And I remember what my papa told me
Remember what my papa told me, blasphemy

[Chorus]

[Tupac]
The preacher want me buried why? Cause I know he a liar
Have you ever seen a crackhead, that's eternal fire
Why you got these kids minds, thinkin that they evil
while the preacher bein richer you say honor God's people
Should we cry, when the Pope die, my request
We should cry if they cried when we buried Malcolm X
Mama tell me am I wrong, is God just another cop
waitin to beat my ass if I don't go pop?
Memories of a past time, givin up cash
to the leaders, knowin damn well, it ain't gonna feed us
In my brain how can you explain, time in D.C.
It's hard enough to live now, in these times of greed
They say Jesus is a kind man, well he should understand
times in this crime man, my Thug nation
Do whatchu gotta do but know you gotta change
Try to find a way to make it out the game
I leave this and hope God can see my heart is pure
Is heaven just another door? I leave this here
I leave this and hope God see my heart is pure
Is heaven just another door? And my people say

[Chorus 4X]

Our father, who art in heaven
Hallow be thy name
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done
In earth, as it is in heaven
Give us this day, our daily bread
As we give up our debts
As we forgive our debt-ors
Lead us not into temptation
but deliver us, unevil
For God, is the kingdom, and the power
and the glory forever, and ever, and ever

Thats not your average personal high. Amazing song. I remember in the XXL special where the Outlawz and people who had input into the album said after they recorded that song they played it in the car on the way home (or somewhere) and Pac was trippin at what he said like "you hear what I'm sayin?" It was probably one of those moments when you just say something and it comes out alot deeper than you expected. I love this song anyway.

You do come up with crazy shit when your high.

:( What did I say that was "crazy"? And I'm not high. What would make you say that?

But I think because of Pac's background and upbringing with a whole family full of black panthers its more likely it was a mixture of both.

I can see and agree with that.

Thats not your average personal high.

What are you talking about?

Amazing song.

One of his best ever. It is EASILY one of his deepest and shows great lyrical depth as well.

Yeah, I know what you're talking about, I have that issue.

Of course 2pac had some shit that he just spitted because it sounded cool or rhymed. You think 2pac thinks deep about everything he writes, come on man. Even the Lawz said 2pac was shocked about what he said so he didnt realise at the time he wrote it what he 'really' wrote down so he didn't give it much thought.

And 2Pac admitted himself that he was drunk as fuck when he recorded much of his work.

Also, "thug nigga" & "drug dealer"...yeah, he really went Sun Tzu on us every time he used those rhymes....

People just don't fuckin' think before they type.

There's a difference between writing a song and not realizing at the time how good the song is, and just completely writing something because "it sounds good" or "cuz it rhymes".

Do you know how many artists I've heard in interviews say "yeah, I knew I had something good when I did that, but I didn't know it was gonna be this big".

It's called exceeding your own personal expectations, that's all.

Yeah, we know, you're point? 90% of rappers are probably drunk AND stoned when they do their shit.

Also, "thug nigga" & "drug dealer"...yeah, he really went Sun Tzu on us every time he used those rhymes....

You're one of those people that takes a small exception and tries to apply it as if it's the norm.

Nice try though.

CalcuoCuchicheo said:
But Jason, this here; ; would imply that there were no exceptions....now you're saying there are?

It doesn't imply that at all.

And as for "now you're saying there are?", I never said there wasn't. There's exceptions to EVERYTHING, man.

This is the biggest problem with people on this board. Too many people go off on an assuming rampage rather than just asking questions. Too many people also like to put words in other peoples' mouths. This shit is part of the reason I have been ghosting the board for the past month or so. I've only been back for 2 days, maybe I'll just start ghosting again.

I've already expressed an interest in you going back to your ghosting days.

Another big problem on this board is people reading too much into Tupac's lyrics. I recognize that at times Tupac wrote some on point shit, but at other times, he was making statements which were rather vague & open to interpretation - which leads us to where we are right now! Now I don't think Tupac was even fully aware of what some of the shit that he wrote meant. I'm not saying he wrote it to sound 'cool' like that time you said 'nigga' on this board - even though you're white - but I mean, do you think there was a huge deal of thought & meaning behind Tupac saying, "I split the blunt & rolled the fat one"??? Because I don't....

No shit.

Now see, why are jabs and comments like that necessary? You can't just type a simple reply and keep the attacks out of it? That shows your childishness. And I shall prove my maturity by leaving it at that.

What exactly are you trying to do here, because I'm not sure?

I mean, you start the post out rationally and actually debating like an adult, then you turn into an asshole.

I think you suffer from some kind of double personality, or maybe manic depression or something, I don't know.

Tell you what though, we can make this real simple. From now on, when you read a post from me, if you're not sure what I mean, ask me, don't assume. A simple "what are you getting at here" or "can you phrase that in a different way so I can try to understand you" will show some maturity.
