Film & TV The Warriors Dirctors Cut! Run get that!

I bought this the other night, expecting it to be a nice new digital transfer with maybe a few extra minutes of fighting or maybe a cool extra scene!

To my enjoyment they gave the movie a new feel! they gave it the vibe of a Comic book movie that actually works amazingly well!

There is no "New" footage to speak of other then a dope intro that talks about a Persian army that had to make it's way to the sea and safety fighting through other army’s!

What makes it new and fresh are cut sequences that are done in the style of reading a comic book. at the end of some pivotal scenes it freezes and is turned into a comic illustration with a few text balloons that smooth the scene transitions.

I have always loved this movie but this new Directors cut has made me appreciate it on more then just the cult classic level.

There are also some cool bonus featuretts that bring back the cast and crew to talk about the movie.

If you are a fan of this movie you must buy this DVD and if you have not seen it I highly recommend it specially to Comic book fans.

The warriors is pure class, dont know if i like the idea of changing anything about the movie though.

The outsiders is trash compared to the warriors IMO.

I am usually a purist when It comes to old movies myself, but this was a great idea and it came from the Original Director so it works really well.

Yeah i watched it last night, it's pretty cool, well worth buying.

The extra features are good, interviews with ajax,swan,mercy,the tall black dude,and the producer and director! well worth the money.

I did'nt know that the little warrior who spray painted everything died in 1986.

to me theyre like diff kind of movies, but they both deal with the gang theme. i think the outsiders deals in a more emotional level while the warriors is more of a cool urban action theme movie.

anyway for those who have this movie already but aren't sure if they should buy this release, I WOULD RECOMMEND you do get it if only because of the BETTER SOUND & PICTURE, which is 100 x better than the original release

I collect DVD's and have been the victim of the "Double Dip" before, but this one is as you said is well worth it it is a GREAT Digital Transfer from a 1979 Movie!

I got the "Casino" DVD last christmas only to find out that the Annaversary Eddition was to come out this past summer, I bought it the day it came out and noticed right away how great the New Transfer was!

Damn that first one they should have put in the film!
other then it being the only Daytime footage other then the end (Which would actully have worked great to have the Movie Bookend with day time scenes) it was good information that you don't get in the movie later on such as the strangth of the Warriors, one might think it was only a 9 person gang! and also you don't get to hear Cochease telling Swan he is the Warcheif!
