The 'Say Something Truthful' Thread

My very first post as raywaters11 was in response to the Say Something Mean about another member, which was a huge success back when it was posted, so I figured this might spice up the board a bit. This thread isn't about hating, respecting or dissing. It isn't to bitch, or to praise. It's just to say your opinion, that only you care about, about anything SH related. About other members, the board itself, hip hop, or music in general. I will start.

The StreetHop.com Community:
We all know that this site isn't the greatest one out there, and even though it proudly boasts over 30,000 members, does 1/1000th of that even post regularly? But I digress, we all seem to have a love/hate relationship with this board. I have sworn off this site a million times, usually after being banned, only to come back later. To me, this site is kinda like being from a small town and you hate it, but you kinda belong there because you "know" it. And you know the members, about as well as you can know a stranger behind a screen name.
I also think that the regular posters here are FAR more intelligent than the general population of the internet. If you go to any other website and read the comments section on an article or, God forbid, a YouTube video, the internet is full of people who I totally believe to be barely functional retards. This site at least has coherent messages from seemingly above-average people about sometimes-intellectual topics. So I like that about this site.
And it's always fun when a member randomly gets shit-faced drunk and rants. That's cool, too.

Now, on to the Members.
My Least Favorite Members:
Casey Rain - Somehow he seems to get under my skin more than anyone on this site. Just the arrogance and overall douchebaggery of everything he has to say. He's like Kanye West minus the personality, talent and money. So I guess he's nothing like Kanye West. He's more like Danny Bonnaduce (I know that's probably spelled wrong but who really cares)
Okay for some reason he's the only member I can think of that I dislike. Moving on.

My Favorite Members:
Casey Rain - Yep he gets two spots. He stands firm by whatever he says and he is pretty passionate about...everything. Arguing with him is fun and that's why I do it, and I can also see the logic in most of his posts even when I disagree with them. He and I have argued since dinasaurs roamed the internet and we probably always will, even though we've not typed one word at each other since I last returned.
Kelli - I always think it's fun to get a "woman's" perspective on a topic. "She" usually has something smart to say, and it's always from a point of view that the regular guy on this board isn't used to. "She" is basically like one of the fellas.
I also think she's a man.
Dilla or whatever he calls himself these days - We had great times making fun of people on Halo and he always stayed on my team even though I suck massive dick at the game. I think he kept me around for my shit-talking and my horrible accent. And because I once told a woman on Halo I would break my dick off in her baby's face.
VG - Not talked to him in a coon's age but he posts some funny shit and I never know when to take him seriously. He is always going to be an asshole in my book for deleting me from FB but I guess I can't blame him.
Shadows - We have had some awesome MSN conversations (does anyone even use MSN anymore?) and I don't think there's a single thing we haven't covered at least once. I even got drunk and cried to him over whatever girl had broken my heart at the time, so A+ for him for dealing with my pathetic ass.

Everyone else, you're somewhere in the middle of Fav and Least Fav.

I think the streethop community is fairly good with discussion bc as stated earlier, the level of intellgence is great, but I think we need more subjects.

As far as music goes, i dont think anyone should shit on anyone's choice of music. Underground, shock-value raps, or mainstream all serve a purpose, and im not going to lie, i can listen to it all and appreciate it for what it is, but that doesn't mean i go around the hood bumping all that shit, and i feel like some of you guys think that's what people do around here. Like, i like prince, but i wont bump him in my car even though he's on my iPod connection in the car. I think our discussion of music needs to be more mainstream because, let's be real, i work a lot and not on the cpu LOOKING for albums. If you're not super hot like Kendrick Lamar or someone coming up like J.Cole was back then, im not going to know you exist or coming up with an album, so there is nothing to discuss and that goes for known artists that have been in the game in the early 80's 90's too.

DONT GET ME WRONG.

I think underground SHOULD be promoted more, there is a lot of music that is left out there that isn't being cherished, but man, i cant stand when mainstream music isn't cool to be discussed. Point blank, if you can't tell me lyrics to the song before even entering the thread, you shouldn't say it sucks, bc music is to be heard for the music, delivery and lyrics.

This will make my post stale bc I don't hate on anyone, i used to fuck with ppl every now n then though, but im over it.

Fav Members: Jokerman is always funny and is the most intelligent poster by far. Jokerman makes the ones that are more intelligent on the board seem inferior. Overall, a good person and doesnt seem to judge at all. Good Person that i would actually meet.

Ray and Coonie: Lets face it, these two members have lived totally different lives from us and they are smart in their own way. They bring a different level of thinking when they are serious and they bring up good points, right or wrong....and that's what a board is for, discussion.

Rukas, SiGh, Jon - Need to post more. When one or the other isn't around, the other comes around. So the empty feeling of SH is not really missing, but i feel like these 3 people are really important to the board.

Flipmo, Sofi, Keco, Carms, Elmira, Hizzle, illmatic, Stred, Kobe, VG etc...the other girls and dudes it's getting late n this isn't a s/o thread. lol but you all are cool and i always look toward your posts bc you guys tend to post less and less lately.

The Thread Im looking for is for Woody to come out and say exactly what is making him change...

and my confession is that i am very similar here to how i am in person, however, my level of discussion are different. My discussions in person or to my real friends are more intelligent. For some reason, in these boards I tend to speak with heart. I think maybe bc you guys are pretty intelligent so i feel like i need to offer something different to the table, and i've been like that my whole life in anything i ever done.
