The OFFICIAL RECOMMEND AN ARTIST/GROUP THREAD

Than I'll add some more myself :) .

Haiku D'Etat brings together three of the L.A. underground's most notable talents: Aceyalone and Mikah 9 (of the Freestyle Fellowship) and Abstract Rude (of Abstract Tribe Unique). They last collaborated on their 1999 debut, but the intervening five years haven't diminished their chemistry. Throughout their careers, these lyricists have drawn frequent comparisons to jazz artists as their wordplay and rhyme flows resemble a kind of verbal bebop. This sophomore effort finds them innovating further still. On "Mike, Aaron and Eddie" they stutter out words and phrases with a mechanical proficiency that's both organically effortless yet unnaturally precise. "Transitions and Eras" takes the jazz motif to its most literal as the three spin out a tangle of rhymes while Fat Jack keeps the beat in the pocket through his bass lines, rim taps, and tinkling piano. Less heady, but no less enjoyable, are the post-relationship analysis "All Good Things" and braggadocio fest "Top Qualified," featuring Quannum's Lyrics Born, Gift of Gab, and Lateef. Inspiringly creative and impressively virtuoso, Coup De Theatre is easily as strong, if not better, than anything Acey, Ab, or Mikah have done individually since they last worked together, and hopefully it won't be another half-decade until they collaborate again. --Oliver Wang from Amazon.com

UGK-RIDIN DIRTY - DAMN i have had this album for like 7 years or somethin like that and the shit is still not repetative. I do not know what it is put Bun B and PimpC really dug deep and but together some of the greatest rap music i have ever listened to.

The beats are mostly produced by pimp c. Most of yall probably know of Bun B, but if you dont, damn that man can fuckin flow like no other. His lyrical talent is greater than Pimp C's, but Pimp makes them a perfect team. And dont even think that Pimp isnt good, because that is not true, he is close to Bun B's skill level but just not quite there.

Ever since southern rap music got into all this crunk shit, they were into that smooth flowin laid back smokin weed and cruisin gansta shit. If you like Guitars and hypnotizin beats look no further than that ridin dirty shit. It is not unlike any rap cd i have ever heard and i recommend it to everyone, but ecspecially all you people out their that enjoy rollin up fat sacks in honey dipped blunts, gettin smoked out, and cruisin with your homies.

No weak songs on the entire cd, shit the outro is almost 10min long of some of the funkiest guitar playin and straight smokin shit. Pimp C just shouts out all the people that he is cool with, but from experience its just enough time to smoke a decent sized blunt to the face.

The beats i cant really describe them but i would say like a cross with that old Daz shit and like ummmm.. shit i cant even do it. It really is like nothing that i have ever heard. Ok now i thought this shit through its like a mix between old Daz shit and Southernplayaistccadilaac...Etc. (OutKast's 1st CD) Thats the best i can do if you dont know bout them.

Peace

Album:Law And Order
Song:Off Da Record

http://rapidshare.de/files/831477/1...rack_6.mp3.html

for those of ya'll who might've missed or couldn't catch something he said here are the lyrics in text......

BOSSMAN talking: "it's off da record...there's things i gotta say...it's off da record...between me and you though...ya know...it's off da record keep it on da low...u feel me...

Verse 1: a lot of ya'll know me from da land of the OH the B to the O-S-S
here's a few things that you might not know i need to get it off my chest
off da record the past few months have been hetic
tryin to build this buzz sum things got me stressin
a whole lotta strain came along wit this blessin
tryin to maintain pops back to snortin cane
13 yrs. in da bang he think he changed
like a million dollar bill sum things never change
baby mama beefin naggin screamin
daughter havin seizures can't get da proper treatment
my bullshit insurance is probally da reason
deals labels talkin it's only for a single
my niggaz think i'm switchin from da way i do business
had to learn the hard way don't mix friendship wit business
hurt me to my heart me and cash split apart
he ain't see da vision shit it ain't my fault
and i'll admit since he split things have been runnin smooth
i'll be damned if him and kid gonna make me choose
shit...both of them my dudes
difference is me and kid made a business move
and that's da princible i feel invincible when i spit in da booth
my own producer probally question if i'm is da truth
cuz he ain't used to me on song singin
as long as da song's bangin then it's all king then
if ya'll would just listnen how da flow keep switchin
that's da main reason why i think i'm so gifted
i get it from my mama yeah she been thru da drama
sum things still haunt me that i keep in my closet
that happened to my sister da way her baby father dissed her
he don't know he was that close to being hit up
but his daughter's my niece's so i keep it on sum piece shit
i guess my kindness my weakness
found out who killed my man DAM! left him speechless
let that be our secret

Chorus: off da record up in da studio gettin blown to da truest shit i ever spoke (this is off da record)
up in da studio gettin blown to da truest shit i ever wrote (i said it's off da record)

up in da studio gettin blown to da truest shit i ever spoke (this is off da record)

up in da studio gettin blown to da truest shit i ever wrote(but wait don't turn off da record)

Verse 2: see everybody flipped when they thought i dissed kiss
cuz i said his album wack that's exactly what i meant
but ya'll got it backwards cuz da fact is
i think kiss is one of da illest left in da rap biz
ain't no albums been hot since 50 cent dropped
i can't forget Kanye oh yeah his shit was hot
why all these rappers gettin shot but they're sendin shots back
just talkin bout it when they rap
i ain't a gangsta thug or a murderer
nigga fill me wit slugz i live nigga i'ma murder ya
have that ass erased this game's a disgrace
sumbody tell me how the hell we welcomed back mase
and i ain't tryin to hate his name or leave a sour taste
i seen him as a preacher switchin his whole speech up
talkin bout rap's da devil we need to speak up
and stand up don't let it ride man up
i'm sick til i hurl wit this best of both worlds
when this nigga R.Kelly molested lil girls
if that was my daughter or your daughter
would u have respect for a mo-les-tor from next door
or treat that shit da same fuck da money and da fame
don't lay back and except it
shit i wouldn't be surprised if BIG had PAC slain
but that's off da record

Chorus: off da record up in da studio gettin blown to da truest shit i ever spoke (this is off da record)
up in da studio gettin blown to da truest shit i ever wrote (i said it's off da record)

up in da studio gettin blown to da truest shit i ever spoke (this is off da record)

up in da studio gettin blown to da truest shit i ever wrote(but wait don't turn off da record)

Verse 3: i got more to get in if ya'll still wanna listnen
i feel like da world's one big contridiction
sum things in da bible i can't comprehend it
i ain't dissin no religion so please don't be offensive...it don't make sense to me
they say don't sex before you're married but when da baby's born say it's meant to be
GOD created everything who created slavery must've been da devils work
sumbody tell me how it work he destroyed earth and left Noah
i wanna know who sexed Noah for me to be here flowin
it's a proven fact u tell a story sumbody tell da story that's facts get mismatched
everytime da story re enacts did u know it's a fact
da blacks right to vote it's not a law it's an act
all this talk about da draft is so wick wick wack
how u gonna fight for a country who do shit like that
da vote scam in florida disappeared got overlooked
man it probally don't even make da history books
they say obey da laws of our land
if GOD made da man and man made law
so when we break laws do we disobey GOD
shit...FUCK NAW! that ain't da truth by far
what about war and thou shall not kill
when da people of America do that shit at will
MOTHER FUCK BUSH! we should re elect Bill
believe it or not slavery exsist still
may not feel how i feel but u gotta respect it
this is of da record...
now da whole world know how da fuck i feel on and off da record so turn off da record"
