This advice on how to be a good wife was printed in "Housekeeping Monthly" in 1955 . It gives a clear idea on how married women were meant to behave in their relationship with their husbands - just about 40 years after the Suffragettes campaign reached a peak and 37 years after the 1918 Representation of the People's Act. The Pankhurst's and Emily Wilding Davison would hardly have supported the sentiment of it!
