OK, fuck this album.

What made Connected a classic?

1. Phonte rapping - he doesn't have 5 verses total on this album.
2. Features - just a bunch of singers now.
3. Kenn Starr's verse
4. A Brave New World
5. Production - this album doesn't have variety
6. Content - Phonte just raps about love on this shit.

Honestly, I haven't paid attention so I don't know the whole deal about the album; I just saw that it leaked and I was super excited. I don't even know the extent of Nicolay's involvement in it. I'm hoping it's more of an album designed to promote Darien and Yahzarah and not the REAL 2nd foreign exchange album.

I really haven't even been checking streethop much, lol. There's hardly any new posts. But yeah, I don't like it either really and I LOVED the first. I can't disagree with anything you've said though. There's hardly any Phonte verses on the album and there's no rapper guest spots. Extremely disappointing.

It's a good album, if you take it for what it is, a soulful album. I wouldn't consider it hip-hop anymore.
