I know I'm late as hell on in this one :D, but I heard their self-titled debut recently and fell in love instantly. I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations on where to go next (songs, albums etc.) and possibly maybe something to avoid.

Thankyou in advance.

^^yeah all their albums are worth checking out. even one of the greatest hits albums with a new track called ghost song is cool just for the new song alone. the only doors albums that you should not waste your time on is the one or two albums they put out after jim morrisons death. but if your a hard core doors fan you should check them out.

The Doors are an awesome band. "Waiting For The Sun" is a great album, but you can't go wrong really with most of their stuff.

I totally agree. The doors rock, no matter what.

^I only actually own their greatest hits album. I've been meaning to get into some of their other albums, but haven't had the opportunity as of yet.
Do it. As soon as you possibly can. If you liked the songs on Greatest Hits (Which greatest hits album btw? there's about 1000 of em out there) you'll love the rest of their stuff

lol, in the Stand, by Stephen King, one of the charaters, clames to hav seen Jim Morrison, alive, filling up his gas at the gas station he worked at. I found this real funny when i read it, cuz i got to that page the day after my cousin had jus finished painting a picture of morrison for my dad.

My Dad was a big fan back in the day. So I had to like them, they were played all through my child hood. Infact he gave me all the original LP's which are worth a bit now.

I listened to them a lot 10 years ago. But haven't much since.

1 of the better cd's for the new listener - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...102-8299805-3444924?n=507846&s=music&v=glance - you'll probably find it cheaper elsewhere, rather than Amazon.

i think to make it easy, grab a greatest hits, or even buy the soundtrack to the movie, it has quite a few of there better songs...classic band though, some of that music you can listen to in your car and then all of a sudden you are at your destination but don't remember drivin there, kinda puts you in a trance
