How do you feel about the current British electoral system in which a single candidate is selected from each constituency with the most successful member attracting the most votes? I think the relative majority system is played out because the amount of seats procured in parliament is not in balance with distribution of elector votes on a national level.

Perhaps it would be more advantageous to employ an alternative vote system whereby the electorate can make choices in order of preference thus a constituency will return a single candidate but without a minority vote? What about the mixed Party list system that is present in the German constitution? Surely it’s more advantageous to pay heed to the local link between constituent member and elector whilst making representation in parliament more proportionate?
