So 4 year schools also have "commencement" speeches? Hmmmm why is that?

What? Try to make sense, kk good game bye thnx.

A "graduation" speech is when you actually graduated. McFarlane didn't. He was invited to make phunnis at the ceremony.

On Break.com there is the full speech where he also does Peter and in the end Quagmire. :thumb:

Well there are commencent cermonies (for those going to a four year school from a 2 year school) and graduation (for those who are done with school in general) here. So yea.

i would rather have a cartoon character than have jodie foster spit anti-war hate speech and rap eminem lyrics, bringing a negative feel to the whole thing.

i can agree though, a person doing the voices of family guy isnt the best idea, you really want someone to speak on positive things and inspire you as you are heading out into the world.

CoolWaterz, this is what I'm talking about.

I want someone to say something memorable, like this:

"What is it that binds us to this place as to no other? It is not the well or the bell or the stone walls or the crisp October nights. Our loyalty is not to the memories of what William Richardson Davie did 200 years ago . . . No, our love for this place is based upon the fact that it is as it was meant to be The University of the People. Two hundred years to the day since the founding of the First State University, we can read again the words on its seal--"light and liberty"-- and say the The University of North Carolina has lived by those two short noble words and say that in all of the American story there is no other place like this."

It was a University Day speech - not graduation - but you get the idea.

idk ive seen my sisters graduation, been to my own, watched my girlfriends, and none of them "inspired" me to go out and fight the good fight. I would take comedy anyday over a guy standing up there thinking hes the second coming and his words mean more than they truly do.

Most speakers are just boring and unmemorable. At least the kids who graduated and heard seth mcfarlane will always remember it...i couldnt even tell you who spoke at my graduation

lmao @ me being emo

A graduation ceremony isn't a stand-up comedy show. I'd rather have Robert Frost speak at it than Dane Cook any day, and I enjoy Dane Cook's work a lot more.

This makes me think of a joke by Lewis Black where he commented on N*Sync doing the half time show for the Super Bowl:

"Because when I think 'football,' I think 'N*Sync.'"

Stewie Griffin is to a graduation ceremony as N*Sync is to the Super Bowl.

That's my stance and I'm stickin' to it.
