i won another battle. after being fined by my university library a total sum of $25 for a book which i held over the due date by 5 days, i sent them a vicious email of complaint. the fee has now been waivered, and i am now able to keep that $25 in my pocket, where it belongs. and this is how the Battle of the Books was won, a couragous victory.
