I watched the last half of it. I thought it was pretty good. I felt inspired by some of the parts. I kind of missed out by not watching most of the movies; I only watched Crash out of the nominees for Best Picture.

i flipped back and forth. the new episode of the boondocks was on tonight so i couldnt miss that.

ive had the thought over the past few years that this award show is bs. they get worse and worse as the years go by. i mean who decides who the winners are? other actors? people that work in the industry? if thats the case then its decided by a bunch of over payed people who have no idea what the consumer really wants to see.

whatever happend to going to a movie just to escape reality? all the good movies of the year werent even nominated. the 40 year old virgin was one of the best films of the year. i dont care how stupid it is. its a great movie. that movie deserved to win best picture or at least be nominated for something

the beginning was funny, the broke back mountain part was hilarious, when hes like cowboy movies hav always had gay cowboys, and then it showed a bunch of clips of old cowboy movies, with scenes where 2 cowboys would look at each other funny, or say sumin that sounded rilly gay to each other. The host was awite, what was his name again? neways i like the one joke, hes like "even remakes r rilly good, King kong, War of the Worlds, that was a book, and Walk the Line, thats jus Ray with white people" lol

look at half the movies nominated. hardly anyone saw them. the 40 year old virgin was seen by lots of people. more than capode, good night & good luch, that movie about the tranny and syriana combined i bet.

plus 40 year old virgin had a positive message in it.

what message was their any of those movies nominated?

You can't make an argument about popularity. Oscars do not equal the MTV Awards. Oscars work on distginguishing quality films, not commercial ones. That is up to some point, of course, there's politics in everything.

Plus, there's more to a movie than a positive message in the plot.

Crash winning was very politically correct.

and comparing 40 Year Old Virgin to a film like Munich is like comparing 50 Cent to 2Pac.. really.

40 Yr Old Virgin, doesn't compare to films like Crash, Munich or Capote. Which I've seen all of em, and you can notice the difference between the quality of production, sound, etc.

That's just my opinion though

Oh you was watching it too? What happen... I only saw the beginning when grandpa flew to chicago to go for some funeral for his old friend and he had a secret to give him if he spoke at his funeral. What was the secret? And did Huey become friends again with his old best friend?

Anyho...

all i can say about the awards is Three Six Mafia... lol...

I watched just about tha whole thing. There were a couple funny parts, but I woulda liked to seen a couple more funny videos or somethin like that. I think they had 1 too many montages though. Tha bad part was that tha only movie I saw out of all of them was Hustle & Flow. It was nice to see Three 6 Mafia win. They were so xcited too.

It shoudl be his too... I don't understand how can someone compare Crash to the 40 year old virgin (which i loved)

Comedies are not serious movies... It's like if you had P.Diddy in a show where they award great lyricists....I think that's the best comparasion you can have seriously.... Comedies make you laugh, not think about something... If the 40 year old virgin made you think, they you probably took some mush

On the other hand, they probably should insert a Best Comedy Award :thumb:

I thought he did a fine job. He brought some freshness to the to show. I enjoyed it. I noticed the lack of responses too.. oh well..

watched the last half. i've seen none of the movies that were nominated. i was only looking the dresses of the people. jessica alba had such a nice dress and uma thurman too. keira knightley was stunnin too even if i still think she should get a few extra pounds.
