Like salty pointed out, those terms exist because those people exist. It's just a term. There are plenty of derogatory terms for white people, black people, economists, students, fat people and squirrels as well.

Does that mean squirrels are opressed here because a derogatory term about them exists?

You are right they exist. But, let's start a thread about what are some terms that we use to refer to black people. Should we? Or, a thread to post terms we refer to Arab people. The list goes on. My point, they shouldn't exist. What strikes me the most is no one actually objects to these derogatory terms. Females are on the top of the list.

I agree insofar that these days i see (too) often use of derogatory terms towards females. And i don't agree with it either, i think it's stupid.

But it doesn't mean females are opressed....i mean, i'm gonna step out on very thin ice here for a while, but many muslim countries opress women more than western countries. Not to say that's "Islam's fault, but a country like Iran or Saudi Arabia isn't reknown for their woman's rights, are they?
